Buy this! Use it!
The color coding of rhyme patterns is what sets this program apart. I'm a professional lyricist with dozens of successful commercial releases to my name. This is the most useful app for lyric writing I've tried and that includes paid programs like Masterwriter etc. I use it all the time. The thesaurus and even the rhyming dictionary are not the most comprehensive, but you don't need comprehensive lists of ryhymes and words, you need useful ones. The program does a good job of showing useful rhymes, and allows you to work quick to get ideas down wihtout distractions. Honestly, I don' t use the rhymes though, The feature that identifies rhyming pattrerns and color codes them is indispensable.
THE BEST SONGWRITING TOOL
I've been a devoted user of Rhymer's Block since 2021, and it has become my indispensable songwriting companion. However, I'd like to offer a couple of suggestions for improvement, particularly regarding the desktop version.
It would greatly enhance the user experience if the desktop version could incorporate a feature that allows users to insert lyrics into tabs side by side. This modification would be especially beneficial for writers like me, enabling us to have all the lyrics readily visible during our creative process, eliminating the need to interrupt our performance to scroll down.
Additionally, the inclusion of a zoom-in option would be a fantastic enhancement, providing users with greater flexibility and ease of use. These proposed adjustments would undoubtedly contribute to an even more seamless and user-friendly songwriting experience.
Have to pay TWICE for MacOS & iOS App, Un-responsive Developer
I purchased the MacOS version for $10, only to find out that I had to pay $10 more for the iOS version too. Bad & VERY deceiving. The rhymes work as advertised (auto-generated), but there's NO ORDER to the rhymes it suggests ... completely random You cannot sort them alphabetically (a-z), by popularity, word length, etc ... it's a MESS and hard to look through to find what you want. You can adjust the font size for the UI which is nice ... BUT not the rhyme list. The list on the right has an extremely small font you can barely see on a 4K monitor. Lastly, the Developer is completely un-responsive to any questions or feedback ... emails are never answered. So, all-in-all ... it's really a one-trick pony and nothing special. I honestly feel ripped-off with this purchase. I could have done this FREE so many other ways. Oh yeah ... AND this app CONSISTENTLY nags to rate it ... so here ya go ... enjoy!
