Presente nel sublitorale del Mar Mediterraneo, questo organismo è di fondamentale importanza per gli equilibri ecosistemici delle comunità bentoniche. Per questo è centrale la sua tutela ai fini della salute dell'ambiente marino.
Con questa app possiamo adottare un approccio partecipativo rivolto ai pescatori sia con licenza che amatoriali ed alla popolazione, al fine di instaurare meccanismi di autoregolazione e gestione consapevole del riccio di mare.
