Track your miles, map your routes, and earn ride streaks for your daily errands and commutes. The best part? You don't have to do a thing. Just hop on your bike and Ride will automatically log your ride and take care of the rest.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Install the app
You’ll be up and running in less than a minute.
2. Ride your bike
The Ride app intelligently detects that you're biking and starts logging for you.
3. Track your stats
Get rewarded for multi-day ride streaks, riding in the rain, and more.
LET'S MAKE BIKING BETTER
Riders from Turin to Portland are using Ride to help make biking better. Every trip you take contributes to your city's Bike Stress Map, which helps other riders discover the best routes – and helps cities fix the worst ones.
Want to sync your rides to Health Kit and your Apple Watch? The Ride app can do that for you. To get started, tap the Gear Icon, then tap 'Connected Apps'. Once you connect the Health App or your Apple Watch, your rides will automatically sync to Health Kit!
You can use Ride completely anonymously without providing any personal information. Your ride logs are stored securely and are never shared with third parties unless you explicitly share them. Cities and other organizations work with Ride Report to use anonymous, aggregate information to help improve bike routes and encourage more people to bike. You can learn more on our support website, http://help.ride.report.
The Ride app requires iOS 9 or later. Ride runs best using an iPhone 5 or newer.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. The Ride app is built to minimize battery drain by using GPS only while you are taking a trip. For most users, you can leave Ride running all the time and you won't even notice the impact on your battery. You can also temporarily pause Ride from within the app.
Miscellaneous bug fixes and stability improvements.
Ratings and Reviews
Sudden spike in battery usage
Ride Report has been the best app I’ve found for tracking my rides accurately and automatically AND posting them to Health. However, recently it’s been using over 50% of my battery whereas it used to be under 10%. Hoping for a bug fix update.
Highly necessary app, but why obscure name change?
This app may not track every route perfectly, but it is constantly improving and providing a more accurate picture of routes and safety ratings. This is beyond helpful as a tech-forward way to give data to cities for safety improvements.
My only gripe recently is that Ride Report changed its name to Ride!, which is impossible to find in the app store unless you type the full name: “Ride! Automatic Bike Tracking.” This is way too long and clunky for people to remember and find. Ride Report was such an easier search term. I told a friend to get this app, and they couldn’t find it. I had to share the app directly with them. Are we trying to keep the app obscure and unsearchable?
relatively consistent tracking, nice work
i, for one, welcome my every move tracked on this app. it does a decent job of tracking my bicycle trips, and i really appreciate the personal statistics. for trips that are miscategorized, i like how easy it is to edit the vehicle type. i also don’t mind the goal rewards badge system—i’m sure my brain is enjoying the dopamine rush every time i unlock a new achievement. all in all, it’s a simple app that serves its purpose, and i don’t see myself not using it unless i end up having a problem with the way my privacy is handled.
