When service changes or issues occur, it is nice to have a message waiting for you. If a bus is detoured or bad weather hits, the ride SMART Bus app will send you service bulletin notifications to keep you up to date.

App not working
The app quit working. The maps are not working and it is hard to tell which direction you're going in. The trip planner is very handy because you can find The right bus to take. However the times are not usually that accurate. There also needs to be an alert given on certain routes when you are waiting for the bus if it breaks down. I had to completely miss an appointment even though I left very early.
This app, although necessary for a lot of people is not very reliable. The bus tracker is a great idea but half the time it’s not working properly. And the app will sometimes randomly crash. If there were any alternatives out there, I’d be using it but this is my only option when I at least try to keep track of the buses so I can make it to work/home at a reasonable time.
Do not use!
We were directed to the app by our bus driver and told to purchase a pass that would then show up in our account on our phone. It didn’t. They instead mailed it to us (not at all helpful as we’re standing on a bus in a different city) and then when we called (from a transit station no less, still trying to purchase tickets) they refused to refund our money or even just cancel or transfer it to a pass we could use that day.
