Ride With Me is a horseback riding safety app that gives you peace of mind when riding. Many horseback riding accidents happen when no one is around. If you fall and can’t call for help yourself, Ride With Me is designed to alert your emergency contacts.

When you start your ride with Ride With Me, the app monitors your movement to know that you’re in control, using the natural rhythms of you and the horse. If Ride With Me detects no movement over a period of time, a warning will sound. If you’re okay, one button silences the alarm.

If you don’t respond to the warning, then Ride With Me will send a text message to a select group of emergency contacts of your choice. The message includes your GPS coordinates and lets them know that Ride With Me hasn’t detected any movement.

Sending accidental alerts

I love this concept, but the app keeps sending alerts without me stopping my ride at all. I am assuming the phone is force closing it for some reason and then the alert is sent out while I’m mid ride. I’m not going to use it anymore because I hate to keep bugging my contacts with false alerts. Please fix this issue! iPhone 7.

Couldn't Detect My Motion

I tried this app since I am the only eventer at my barn and frequently have to go for conditioning rides alone. When I activated my app for a ride I had left the barn and three minutes later the app buzzed to tell me that it detected I hadn't moved and to acknowledge I was ok. 1) I had moved, I was already across the road and well away from my starting point and 2) I couldn't "acknowledge" the alert. The lock screen notification told me to go to the app to acknowledge I was ok, so I unlocked and went to the app and there was no option to acknowledge an alert. This happened twice before I decided this was more distracting and unsafe than finishing my ride as normal. If this app improves I will resume using it but for now I will stick with leaving a note on the whiteboard at the barn before I head out.

Requires emails of contacts

So I would love this app, except for the fact that not everyone I know has an email address.. especially in rural ND, and SD where I ride. I have plenty of cell phones and home phones.. but the most important people I would consider contacting first don’t have email.. so I can’t complete the set up unless I set it to email me.

A little frustrating, but bug fixes are in the way I’m sure. I’ll just keep checking back periodically.

Fantastic App though! ☺️

Thanks for reaching out with your feedback! Due to regulations, we need your emergency contact to give us permission to text them before we can send them text alerts. When you chose your emergency contacts, they should have received an email invitation to be your emergency contact. Once they accept that invitation by clicking ‘Accept Invitation’ at the bottom of that email, we’ll be able to notify them via text message. If you continue to have trouble, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
