RideMETRO 4+

No longer works

It stopped working without even getting an update. Probably has to do either with metro's or Google maps servers. The next transport, change location, and many other services in the app have stopped loading. I can only get it to load like 1/100 of the time. It just sits there forever saying loading or searching and then finally this window pops up saying network time out or something like that. I'm on iPhone 5s iOS 8. The same ios I was on when it was working. The app hasn't had updates so that's not the problem. All my other apps work fine. Google maps by itself works fine too. Obviously to do with the metro servers or the metro servers working with the updated Google servers.

Hit or Miss

It’s extremely hot or miss whether or not the app is going to display the bus on the route properly. Half the time the “real-time” bus is literally not on the map, so you just have to guess if it’s actually coming. I’ve also had multiple times where real time estimate for arrival is 10 minutes out, and then the bus teleports and arrives the next minute. If I can’t trust the real time estimate may as well not put it there. To me it seems like this app has a serious problem with actually tracking the busses, either because the busses themselves have bad hardware, drivers aren’t sending updates, or connectivity issues. At the end of the day it’s not reliable which is a big problem

The interactive map in the ONE to Ride app is updated in real time from our data feeds to provide you with the most accurate information. There will always be a delay from where a bus is located and where it's shown on the map. Usually, the delay is a few seconds, but it can get longer if the bus is in an area with minimal cellular coverage. We will pass along your comments to our IT Team for further investigation. Doesn’t show delays

The app is very nice!
It helps me to know when to start going to the bus stop but Only problem I have is it doesn’t show if a bus is delayed or not. It always lights green when the bus is on time or near but it never tells you if it’s late

Hello, k. high. Thank you for your feedback. You can subscribe to free route alerts so that you're always informed of any delays, interruptions or detours that may affect your ride. You can sign up quickly by texting your route number to 713713 and you'll be automatically subscribed to receive a text whenever there's a service alert on that route. Thank you for choosing METRO.
