A very calming experience
Up to now, most of my experience with mahjong has been of the solitaire variety (think all those versions of Shanghai released on consoles in the 1980s and 1990s). That changed once I found this. The atmosphere feels very calm and welcoming, and I am legitimately enjoying the games I have played so far (even won a match once).
If there’s any feedback for the developers, I’d like to see a more comprehensive tutorial for new players. Part of it is me having trouble getting a hold of the character tiles, but part of it is also a lot of uncertainty about what constitutes a winning Riichi mahjong hand and what doesn’t…I’ve played myself into a corner a few times.
But that’s a minor quibble. This is a fine place to play Riichi mahjong, and it deserves every one of the five stars I’m giving it. Thumbs up from the US.
Best English-language Riichi Mahjong app
While minor parts of it still need to be translated, this is the best app for English-speaking players of Riichi Mahjong. In terms of overall features, it’s got Mahjong Soul beat. The only thing MJS has over this is a larger playerbase, but that can change with you, dear player.

More convenient than mahjong soul
Mahjong soul’s region locking and account shinangans have made me lose items, account information, etc. not very convenient. This one works on steam so I can suffer at the mahjong table seamlessly across devices.
