I was recently in Japan and went to visit Kamakura for a day with my sister. There was heavy rain as we visited some temples but it soon graduated into a typhoon. All nearby busses and trains stopped running so we had to walk about 40 minutes in heavy rain and lightning to the train station. filmed most of it and put it on river as a metaphorical photo in my digital scrapbook.

River is like a shared diary that’s both intimate and anonymous, it’s so exciting and freeing and refreshing. It feels like going back to a simpler time in the internet (with the added bonus that it’s just a beautifully designed app)I’m excited to see how River develops as a community and I love how interactive it is and that a community exists off-screen too :)You guys are going it right <3

I love wading through the many microcosms and moments that feel sacred unlike any other social networking app. It’s a safe place where I can stop to smell the flowers and share that brief pause of pure bliss captured for no other reason than just being💙

Traditional social media has become so one dimensional! Every post is either promotional or contributing to a this singular image people have developed for themselves. River feels like an opportunity to express the full picture.
