I have been a customer with Rivermark since 2014, I bank with other banks, but none as amazing and easy to work with and affordable as Rivermark. I would recommend this Credit union to anyone looking for a professional and personal relationship with their bank.
In person banking, extremely exceptional. Online banking app. Unreal how fast they process purchases, refunds, and early deposits. Almost never longer than 36 hours. 5 stars all the way! 10 years of experience with Rivermark. Completely satisfied.
If I could leave this app negative 100 stars - I would! The mobile deposit feature is useless and takes me on average 15-30 tries to get it to accept the mobile deposit. When I was considering switching from a big bank to a credit union, one of the most important features for me was mobile deposit, which worked perfectly when I opened my account here years ago. It was seamless. I don’t know what they did to this app, but over the last year and a half or so, it just keeps going downhill. No matter how many times I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled my app, called customer service to complain and pray that the new updates will finally fix this issue - zero luck. Every time that I take the photo of the check it instantly says “unable to authenticate” and boots me out of the app. Now, I’m locked out of my account and have to wait until tomorrow to deposit my checks. The level of frustration this is causing in my life is not worth banking here. I’m very much considering switching to another bank because I just can’t take this anymore. Life is too short to add ongoing tech issues and delays when it comes to our finances and life. Fix your app, Advantis!!!! I can’t be the only one with this issue.
I seriously dislike this app, much worse than the old one before they did the redesign. It's slow. It's unresponsive at times. It doesn't have Touch ID. It always says it's having trouble connecting. I will say they did upgrade the photo quality for the check deposit thing, although it still times out and can't connect and retries more than 50% of the time. Oh, and if you try to do bill pay from the app, the deliver by date is 12 days from the current date. So I just go and log into the website where tomorrow (and the following 10 days, too) is available as delivery date. It's like this app is getting worse. Edit June 29th 2015: oh hey cool! Now the mobile deposit feature doesn't work! Just get an error message about how it can't retrieve my history. Guess what? I don't need the history I JUST WANT TO DEPOSIT A CHECK! But wait, the did add new icons and moved features I literally never use in to the new "favorites" tab they added. Well done!Edit November 6th 2015: Once more, an update that doesn't do anything. New icon? Wow! Unresponsive crashing still? You bet! Mobile deposit does seem to have stabilized some time between this update and the last, but this is still the worst app I've ever used.
I'm a pretty tech savvy guy and I have had terrible luck with the new mobile banking roll out. After some difficulty getting logged in because the system changed my user name to an old version I've found the user interface to be fairly slow and cumbersome. After some clumsy clicking around I learned how to use the mobile deposit feature of the app but now every time the camera takes a photo the app crashes making it just a fancy and slow way to check the balance on my account. No question this new system makes me think about changing accounts. Bugs will most likely get fixed but not worth dealing with it while they figure stuff out.
However, for the past 6 months the app has not been working properly for The credit account. Last fall every transaction was listed twice which lead to confusion about what was actually posted to the account. That took over 3 months to fix. Now, for the past 2 months, they have taken the credit account off the app because of problems. Consequently, I can’t see any account info or make payments to it. Since I am paperless, I have been in the dark about my account for 6 weeks. To make a payment, I have to call the online banker. Too many problems.
