Rather than using leveling system based on classes, characters in this game gain in strength and attributes after each enemy encounter.
If a character relies mainly on weapons to fight, her physical attacks will increase in strength and the character will closely resemble a warrior archetype. Extensive use of elemental attacks, on the other hand, is a straight road to increased mental power and a mage archetype.

Main characters possess a special power called Barla, usable through Esoterica of Barla. This special skill will be invoked only in the most dire of circumstances, e.g. when the entire party is about to get wiped out. Barla can (and will) turn the tides in the party's favor. So have some faith in them heroes. Things may turn out better than you'd hoped!

Featuring various side quests, completing which will yield you rare and powerful artifacts.
Also, the world includes some ruins. Try and explore them, if you are up for an extra challenge. There are many other things to do, including fighting in the arena and completing items and enemies guides.

At the point shop, you will find a variety of scenarios which reveal more of the character backgrounds, additional dungeons, and powerful items for your adventure pleasure.
In the additional dungeons, the strength of the enemies is adjusted to the strength of your party, so challenging battles can be enjoyed every time you play.

*While IAP content requires additional fees, by no means it is necessary for finishing the game.

Free to Play, and Easygoing!

My hero is only at the second town, but it’s been fun and easy so far. Very much like the old school Dragon Warrior, the first few minutes are easy enough for me to figure out the basic commands on my own. You get some additional advice in the second town.
The one thing that is different, there are no Experience Levels to gain. The hero gets points randomly added to his 4 status scores after each enemy fight, along with gold and ability points. Like all other Kemco games, abilities are gained from equipment.

Worth A Play For The Price

The story was polished enough to keep me engaged to find out how it would all turn out. A positive mix of FFII and FFIX gameplay; the battles rarely feel like a waste of time because character attributes are always increasing and skills are always being learned. Using in-app purchases is nowhere near necessary to complete the game and it's good with telling you where to go next. Plus, there's a nice Dragon Quest-type surprise for completing it. There will be times where the tap selection is not very reliable and the story is quite linear, with a lack of side quests. Bottom line: I can't see myself revisiting this game but it was worth a play through.

Okay game but not complete

I thought I had purchased the game but no, there are more scenarios and dungeons that you have buy DP to unlock. Plan on spending another $6 to play the entire game. Very misleading.
