This is an enhancement update. The handling of audio device changes is improved, particularly in response to headphones being connected or disconnected. The current settings for processing quality and UI state are now remembered between runs of the application. Finally, this release substantially improves the quality and mono-compatibility of the center-focus mode of the Finer (R3) processing engine.

This release contains fixes to the handling of audio files with less-common sample rates.

This is a bug-fix, performance, and quality release. This is the first update since we introduced our new, industry-leading quality audio processing engine in v3.0.0, and it fixes a couple of problems found in that release.

We're really excited about this one. The 3.0 release introduces a whole new studio-grade processing engine, which gives even better results across almost all kinds of music. We think it's wonderful and we are delighted to be able to offer it for the first time. The existing engine is still available as well - just use the "Finer" or "Faster" selection in the options pane to choose between them - so you have more choice as well as higher quality by default.

This is a bug-fix, quality, and polish release. We've subtly updated the user interface to work and look better on current versions of macOS, added a new colour theme, integrated the colour theme choice with the macOS dark mode setting, and provided a universal build that gives optimum performance on Macs with Apple Silicon as well as on Intel. We've added an option to select which audio device is used for playback, and have fixed some problems playing back audio with certain channel counts or sample rates. We've also removed occasional audible artifacts when changing the pitch during playback. We've added the ability to open Opus audio files, in addition to the formats supported in previous releases (MP3, M4A/AAC, WAV and others). We have made these changes with great care, and we hope that Rubber Band Audio remains the same reliable application it has been ever since its first release. This version supports selecting a range from a track, in order to audition, loop, or export a section of your music. It also adds keyboard shortcuts (the cursor keys) for speed and pitch, and complete hi-resolution rendering on Retina displays. File export is sometimes faster than before and some bugs have been fixed.

This release adds support for saving compressed (m4a) files as well as the uncompressed wav format. It also contains a new batch mode, which you can use to process a whole directory of files at a time. This release also fixes a bug in filename encoding handling on export.

This version adds an option to control stereo width during processing. The version numbering has also been updated to match the versioning of the internal Rubber Band processing core.

This version fixes an embarrassing failure to open some files with non-ASCII filenames.
