Bug fixes and performance improvements
Ratings and Reviews
The current version is horrible compared to its predecessor. The design is awful, and the temperature in the app is stuck on 77 degrees. The actual thermostat seems to work properly.
Horrible compared to every other modern thermostat
So it turns out that with Ruud, you have to use their thermostat with their equipment. They could learn a ton from Nest, where the app actually shows the same temperature as the thermostat. I wake up freezing every morning, so I open the app, where it will show it being 68deg and put the temperature to 70deg (since it doesn’t learn). Then when I get out of bed and look at the actual thermostat, it will read the current temperature as 65deg. It doesn’t matter if I restart the app or not, it is basically a random app that is only used as a switch. If I’m cold, I just raise the temp setting on the app by 2 degrees so it comes on until I get to the thermostat.
If it were an option, I would replace my entire brand new system for another one solely on the basis that the app for the thermostat is SO HORRIBLE. SO HORRIBLE.
Terrible design update
The new app design is terrible.
Used to be able to see at a glance the actual temp and set temp of all my AC zones all on one page. Now you have to go into each zone to see the set temp.
And that slider is terrible. It’s too small and once you adjust the temp, if you make a mistake and set it too low or too high you can’t adjust it again without exiting the zone and then going back in. The location of the slider also makes it easy to accidentally shift the temp way low or way high if you accidentally touch it while swiping from zone to zone.
Not to me to mention that the app erased my AC from itself when it updated and I had to reinstall it
The old version wasn’t perfect but it was much better
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
