"A realization of something we had wished for all our years on the road - with RVillage, an RV Park full of strangers becomes a village of full time friends.”

"As younger, full-timers who are still working from our RV while we travel, it can be tricky finding and meeting other people like us. RVillage bridges that gap and we’re now making new friends along the way and staying in touch as we continue down the road.”

A little clunky and slow

My biggest problem with this app is how slow it is when trying to go through my notifications. I click on an item in the list, then get the little loading icon. When it finally loads, the page scrolls up and down a few time before it finally settles on something that “might” be the subject of the notification. A little less motion and a little more speed would be nice. Also, why in the world are we required to enter and City and State when we want to report our Boondocking location? The whole idea of Boondocking is to get out of town. Why not allow us to enter GPS coordinates, a Forest Road number, or a BLM site?

Slow and clunky

I never use this app now that I’m a full time traveler, which explains why the majority of the users when I did use the app are part time or future RVers. This app is painfully slow, and it’s consuming a LOT of data in the process. The website is no better.

Because there are so many ads in the feed, I have to assume that’s a big part of the problem, but that’s no excuse for it.

I also hate the lack of a freeform field for giving my location. I don’t want to provide my exact park and location, I should be able to list a city or region. They say the workaround is to say you’re boondocking and then give a city, but that’s lazy coding and I shouldn’t have to lie and say I’m boondocking when I just don’t want to name the park I’m in, or give the app access to my gps coordinates.

I don’t think this dev team has ever worked on a mobile app or optimized anything for mobile use before. I also don’t think they’re listening to their solo minority travelers because of the location feature.

I’ll probably be deleting this app soon since I haven’t opened it for more than 60 seconds in at least two months. It’s just that awful.

If you’re on a high speed WiFi connection you’ll probably like it well enough.

RVillage the RVer’s Facebook

We were early adopters of this app and have seen many great improvements over the years. The current version leaves very little to be desired. If you travel in your RV and aren’t using the RVillage app, you are missing a huge crowd-sourced treasure trove of vital information to aid your travel experience.

The RVillage community has also grown tremendously over the last few years and have been ardent supporters of the app’s mission to provide an invaluable resource for those who travel our highways and back country seeking helpful campground info and connection with others who share their adventures.
