S4A IDE (also known informally as "Swift(TM) For Arduino") is the first of a new generation of embedded tools. From the S4A Genius range, this is the first and only tool that allows you to use the Swift(TM) language to write fully native code for the AVR microcontroller found in the super popular Arduino UNO range of boards.
The Swift(TM) languages are safe by design and eliminates whole classes of bugs via undefined behaviour. This will save you time and hassle debugging weird behaviour and, maybe more importantly, will make your embedded safe by design, built in from the start.
You can download the IDE now for free but PLEASE NOTE, the app itself requires a paid subscription to use any features. You will get one month FREE trial when you sign up for any subscription.

Finally!
I've been tinkering with Arduino for years and was always frustrated by having to revert to writing code in C / C and a clunky IDE. I am so happy that I can now create Arduino projects with robust tools in in a modern language.
The ability to use Swift is awesome, but the IDE is also worth note. It is a real Mac app and has modern features that make you more productive.
I'll be using this my personal projects, but also with kids to get them going quickly blinking LEDs and moving motors. I'm super excited to see how this product and community advances over time.
If you do anything with Arduino, just get this. You won't regret it.

The IDE offers a one month Free trial and it certainly provides everything you need for personal or professional use. There is no other IDE you can use to write native Arduino programs using the swift language. We are very happy to incorporate any feedback.
