Safer Badgers is the official COVID-19 app for the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Dane County. The app provides pandemic resources to support community health and safety.

The app allows you to receive your virus test results, manage future tests, and make contact with health response teams and health care providers.

You can use the app to access information about test locations and COVID-19 guidelines for your county.

A symptom scale supports automated self-assessments.

A Bluetooth-based exposure notification system warns of possible contact with infected individuals through anonymous proximity tracing.

schedule more tests in advance?

So far I have been able to schedule a covid test through this app. However, because we need tests every 72 hours or at the minimum, twice a week, I think we should be able to schedule two tests in advance. Right now I am only able to schedule one at time. Everyone is busy, so it would be helpful to be able to plan out our weeks ahead of time.

Constant erroneous notifications

Since downloading the app I am being inundated with reminders for upcoming appointments for times I didn’t schedule and that don’t show up in my appointment list. I also got multiple notices of new test results. First I got a rejected result with no explanation and a harshly written notice that I need to retest immediately in order to be in compliance by the next day or else! Then 5 minutes later yet another notice of test results only to find the previous result remove and no record of my test in the app at all. In fact I got so many notices about phantom appointments and results that I simply turned off all notifications. This app is useless just like the testing process. The Binax now rapid tests were quicker, easier and so much easier to do and you don’t need a flaky app!

Lack of security

Hi developer,
I would really appreciate it if the app was more secure. There is a plethora of personal information on the app, that can be accessed without any passcode or other. It would be wonderful if I could lock (at least) my personal information. All one needs to do to find my info is “edit” the personal information tab and voila. Is this data even encrypted? For an app that is required so that I can keep my job, this is ridiculous.
Also, please add a feedback button so that I don’t have to tell you this in a review.
