Getting Started

It takes just a few minutes to get started with Santander Mobile Banking.




Already a customer?
• You’ll need your Personal ID, Security Number, phone number and/or email address that you’ve registered with us.
• Open the app, select ‘Log on’ and enter your details

New to Santander?
• You can open a Personal Current Account using our app. For other types of account, please visit www.santander.co.uk.
• Simply open the app and select ‘New Customer’.
• You’ll need a U.K. Driving Licence or U.K. passport, if you don’t have either of these you can open an account at www.santander.co.uk or by contacting us.
• We’ll guide you through the application process to set up your account.
This is a new process so there's currently some restrictions. We’re hoping to include more account types and I.D. options soon.

Once set up be sure to allow ‘push notifications’ to see messages from us on your phone’s home screen.

Remember:

• Never share a One Time Passcode (OTP) or your Security Number with anyone. Not even a Santander employee.
• Santander will never call to ask to log on to your mobile device or computer, or ask you to download any type of software.

Santander Mobile Banking will not run on devices that have been jailbroken.

Please make sure you have the latest Apple software on your phone so that our app runs smoothly. Your device will need to be running iOS version 13 or above to use this app. If you are unable to update to this version, please log on to Santander Online Banking at www.santander.co.uk to access your accounts.

Our Mobile Banking app has had a makeover! Besides some updates in the designs:
• You can now personalise the app with your preferred name and welcome screen
• Search your payees by name or reference
• Navigate to the most relevant options using our shortcuts
• Keep your balances private when you need on the Home screen with a double tap on the Santander logo
• View your card details in the app, including card number, CVV number and PIN
• Pay & Transfer Hub to keep on top of all your money movements
• Deposit cheques via the app
• We’ve updated the app settings design
• And you can now access the Investment hub to buy and sell shares and increase your investment portfolio

Never an issue

I’ve never had any issues banking with Santander. As an international students, although in the beginning was a bit difficult choosing the right financial intermediaries, I’d recommend Santander as it’s easy to open account and start the service promptly without any hassle.

Minimal UI but lacking essential features

Previous iterations had a way to know how much you have spent during the week or you could just ask the voice assistant.

Both now both them are gone and I honestly used them a lot because I always like to know how much I'm spending.

Bring one of these two features back please. And btw, checking account details have changed location or removed? Add some guide whenever you move things around and it's not easily accessible. This app makes me think too much that bad UI.

The worst bank ever!!!!

Your customer support is insane. I don’t even have energy to be angry, you drained it all out. I can’t access my money for 2 years!!!! only because I moved out of the UK. Every time I call you, you give me new information, steps and actions I need to take in order to simply log in to my account. Countless hours and money (because I’m calling from abroad) are wasted!!!!
I’ve never seen a company that’s so NOT client orientated. I wish you can change it, otherwise go bankrupt because it’s inhumane to put a person through that.
