Description

Use this app to view recent infrared, visible, and water vapor loops from the NASA Geostationary Operational Environmental (GOES) satellite.

This app is especially good for seeing fronts, tropical storms, and hurricanes well before they arrive.

New data frames usually come once every 10 to 15-minutes and are added to the end of the loops automatically.

Pan the images side-to-side and use pinch-to-zoom if you are on iPhone.

Available geographic views:

Moonwalker. ,

Great, but needs to be customizable.

Great app, but very limited selection of satellite area pictures. I think it would be much better if you could put in which area of the world you want to look at, and pull that up. Right now it shows three different areas, none of which is adequate for my use.
Just a suggestion.

Yes I’m a nerd!

So excited to see GOES-17 (west) sat in a loop. I’m retired and don’t have access to a computer right now. This shows the atmospheric rivers coming towards the states. What goes on in the Pacific, affects the climate in the states.
I can also see what the jet stream is doing any time I want. That’s hard for the public to access by just an iPhone. That RRR tells us California won’t have water for a while.
