Good concept but not there yet

I tried using this app for my shopping trip today. I got signed in to the store WiFi with no issues, signed into the app and was ready to go. Then I realized that my shopping list from the separate Ralph’s/Kroger app wasn’t integrated into this app. So I constantly had to switch between the two apps to view my list and then scan items. Every time I switched back into Scan, Bag, Go, it gave me an error message that I had to dismiss before continuing to scan items.

So far this was slowing me down a bit, due to having to switch apps constantly. Then I scanned a Target gift card I was going to buy, and the app told me I’d need assistance from customer service when I was done shopping. Understandable, I guess, due to the gift card activation process.

I was bagging as I shopped, but this became a problem when I got to the produce. For each item sold by weight I was instructed to seat bagging them so I could weigh them once I’d finished in the produce area. Now I had an awkward mix of bagged items and non-bagged produce in my cart, waiting for me to weigh them.

The last straw was when I tried to buy red onions, and got the “this item requires assistance” message, same as with the gift card. Deciding it was all too much trouble, I deleted the app and headed for the checkout line when I was done shopping. It was nice to have the human interaction.

Loyal Kroger Customer

I have been shopping at Kroger for YEARS, and I just want to say that this new inventive way to shop is amazing. It is a time saver and very easy process to learn. I was able to see my running total as I shopped and the savings. You can pay on your phone and skip all the lines. My family is on a budget and this helps us out a lot. As I’m shopping my kroger card is connected to the app which means every item I scan I get the see the savings and the final price I’ll pay for the item. I also bag my groceries as I go so when I’m finished shopping all I have to do is pay and leave. Everything went very smooth every time I have used the process. Kroger I has added another great way to checkout and I’ll be using this every time I shop from now on. Don’t worry for you folks out there that don’t want to try it out, kroger still has manned cashier lanes and self check out for you. They have really created a way for all customers to have the check out experience that fits your personal life. The store associates did an outstanding job of teaching my how to use it and made sure I was comfortable before they let me shop on my own. Thank you Kroger!!!!!!

Scan bag and go on IOS

Occasionally app has trouble scanning codes but it could be the package too. I was down an isle where no liquor was sold no was I even near any liquor, and before I left the isle I was in there was a purchase for a bottle of vodka. How I caught it was it was warning me I had to be 18 or older. Where did it come from if I didn’t scan it. I do save a lot of time using it. Think about it. I’m not doing double duty of loading, unloading and loading again. It’s all bagged and ready to go. Make sure at check out that the help stationed there has a scanner to process your order. Don’t scan the check out station until help is ready. January 11/19 it wouldn’t let me check out. I had quite a hi of groceries and scanned barcode at check out and iIT DID NOTHING! I had to go through regular checkout and this happened two weeks in a row. I deleted the app and will reinstall it but not sure if I’m going to use it again. Probably have to use their scanners.
Well an update came in today and I sure hope it works better than last. I may end up using their hand held scanner if this update doesn’t work.
Update wasn’t any better so I finally deleted this app and am using in store hand held scanners instead.
