ScanKey is an additional keyboard for iOS devices, which integrates a scanner for QR-/bar codes and an OCR scanner (Optical Character Recognition) to recognize printed alpha numeric text and words with the camera.

This makes work easier e.g. for filling out forms, which require to enter complex codes or IDs by hand (Example: EAN product codes). With ScanKey keyboard simply scan the codes or text and it will be filled automatically in the active text field.

With the Post-Processor Engine, it's really easy to modify the scan result with various filters which can be configured in any specific order.

Since version 2.0 it's also possible to start a scan from the app and not only from the ScanKey keyboard extension!

QWERTZ and QWERTY layout is supported.

• Code39Mod43
• Code93
• Code128

• DataMatrix
• Code-2of5 Interleaved
• ITF14

• Multi-line

Supported post-processors:
• Add character(s) at start/end
• Remove leading/trailing character(s)

Great! But.....

This is a great little keyboard, it really is. But it is lacking in areas of capitalization, auto correct, punctuation, and the ability to hide the keyboard. For instance, I use TeamViewer a lot in my business, and when this keyboard stays on screen, I lose a lot of visible space. this, above all, is something that really needs to be implemented into the design. Auto capitalization would also be great, but isn't as important to me personally as the ability to hide the keyboard. All of that aside, the actual functions of this app its well worth a dollar.

Best workflow of any barcode scanning app

We had a bunch of customers who needed to be able to scan barcodes in to their own app. Many of the other barcode scanners have in-app purchases/resitrictions, intrusive ads, or a poor workflow where you have to physically switch to their app to scan a barcode, then copy and paste the results to wherever they need it. The ScanKey app acts as a keyboard replacement so the workflow is as easy as using a keyboard - the auto-scan feature toggling is great as well.

Thank you very much! Please feel free to use the new feature request link in the app (since version 2.0.1) to submit new ideas for ScanKey features.

Perfect Companion to WMS Web App

We evaluated several iPhone barcode sled hardware options for our new warehouse management system web app but found this gem at a fraction of the price that that works perfectly with the camera and saved us on hardware costs. Would recommend removing the audio that plays when selecting the Camera Access option which is not appropriate for business environments. Excellent work!
