Poor quality app
I always purchase books for my child during these book fairs, and decided to do so through the app to get a $5 discount.
Unfortunately, the app ended up being incredibly frustrating. The pages wouldn’t load correctly, the search mechanism was poor, and when trying to fill in billing information, you had to manually click through each box instead of it automatically going to next one as any basic app can do. I’ll stick to the website or in person next time.
Tired and Broken
This app was only ever mediocre. The overall look and feel of the app is tired - colors and graphics are dated and the interface just seems old. Glitchy and slow, the app often seizes up and requires a hard reboot of my phone to get going again. Search results rarely match the actual search criteria entered. The best feature, in my opinion as a Book Fair Chairperson, is the scanning tool which I use to keep track of popular book titles and restock my Fair. However, even that feature is now broken requiring tedious manual searches for book titles to see if they’re available (also, see my previous comment about search capabilities.) There doesn’t seem to be a way to contact Scholastic and let them know they’re falling down on the job and I can only hope this review makes its way to the appropriate people.
When it works
I’ve been volunteering and chair person for our district’s book fairs for years now. This app is so helpful for restocking - when it works. I’m currently in the book fair at our school and I try to scan a book to reorder it and the ISBN isn’t even in the database. So frustrating. I have lost count how many times this has happened to us since last spring (5 book fairs so far) when we started using the app.
Please fix it!! Thank you!!
