Ratings and Reviews
Accesibility issues not being addressed
I bought this over 2 years ago and it very much taught me how to use the score editor in Logic Pro. While it doesn't have everything, it has a lot, and I think the tutorial quality is high. I would have given this 4 or 5 stars if I was rating on the content quality alone.
Where it falls short is accessibily and usability. They did an "upgrade" in 2018 which primarily added a purely cosmetic background animation behind the menu. I wrote them, saying it made my eyes queasy and requesting they support prefers-reduced-motion. They responding they intended to at an unknown future date but it's 2021 and they haven't updated it. They recently updated the Logic Pro 10.2 course and it still doesn't support prefers-reduced-motion. So I'm docking them stars because I feel they've had enough time to make this update, didn't make this particular update when they issued an update, and so I still have to risk feeling ill each time I use the app, which discourages me from using the app. So if you are at all motion sensitive, think twice before purchasing their otherwise excellent courses.
A smaller issue is on the menu I don't see a quit control in full-screen view. I can force quit, but it would be nice to have a visible Quit button.
Very helpful, and pretty required for anyone using Logic Pro to print music
I have found this video very useful in getting students going in being able to use Logic Pro X to print scores and parts.
It doesn't cover EVERYTHING you need to know, but it gets you going with enough background that you'll be able to interpret the online help built into Logic to find the rest of what you need.
Ignore the one star review. I have no idea what that's about, probably some personal vendetta with the author.
Wow
It is the worst
