Description

ScoutIQ is a scouting app designed for enterprise-level Amazon professional sellers. If you're looking to make money by selling books - or anything else - on Amazon, this is the app for you! Whether you sell Merchant Fulfilled or FBA items on Amazon, ScoutIQ’s mission is to leverage data to help you scout SMARTER, not harder.

Key features include:
++ Downloadable Database - helps you access data faster and in areas without cell coverage
++ eScore - our proprietary data point that gives you “x-ray vision” into a book’s historical sales without leaving the app’s scout screen (no need to pull up Keepa or Camel charts!)
++ Team Mode - scale your enterprise-level scout team by adding child accounts (at a discounted rate), turn on Hidden Mode remotely, in real time, and manage your team through a centralized web portal. This is a game changer in the industry, allowing you to build your team across the country without physically touching their phone.
++ Multiple Trigger Profiles - you can tailor your scouting rules to your unique situation. Build one set for thrift stores, another for retail arbitrage, and another for garage sales. Easily switch triggers when you're out in the field to take advantage of the opportunities around you!
++ Advanced Product Lookups - manually type in ISBNs, use your phone's camera to scan a barcode, or pair the app with a Bluetooth barcode scanner at no extra cost to quickly analyze products that you're hoping to flip
++ Smart Triggers - advanced, customizable triggers look at multiple data points to help you pick a realistic list price for every item that you scan, minimizing blind spots that exist with other apps
++ ScanTracker - measure key scanning stats to identify which sources are worth returning to at a later date
++ Scout Lite Screen - a simplified screen with color-coded bars that help you make faster sourcing decisions
++ Profit-based Approach - our triggers focus on your estimated payout after a book sells, not on the expected list price, so you can make decisions that impact your bottom line, not just your top line

Built for sellers by sellers - we understand the market because we sell in it every single day. We’re proud to employ a US-based support team to help answer your questions.

ScoutIQ pulls data from the US and UK markets only (amazon.com and amazon.co.uk), but we’re looking into opportunities to expand into additional countries and markets.

If you find any bugs or have ideas for improving the app, please reach out to us! We value your feedback and are committed to providing the very best app to help eCommerce sellers manage their businesses more effectively.

The Database Feature is Holding This App Back

I really do believe this app is of some quality, but the database feature is pretty bad. How can you charge extra for this service when it’s not accurate, even when freshly downloaded? The UI also has issues displaying the correct rank to the E Score. This ultimately has everything to do with the fact that the database isn’t displaying the most up to date information. There were a lot of scans that I either missed or picked up accidentally because the database would say that it’s a good buy and then once you hit live, it’s a bad buy. From my understanding, Scoutly and ScoutIQ are the only FBA scanning apps that have a database feature. If this doesn’t work on your app, then it’s regulated to just being a live service app, which in that case there are better app options. Fix this issue before you charge people for it.

After 10,000+ scans, decision support, tech help, etc

I looked into a couple of leading apps when I got started and decided to go with ScoutIQ. After more than 10k scans, I am happy to report that I love the app.

It is hard to get started selling books - a lot to learn (besides the grind of FINDING them every day), I work solo, etc. ScoutIQ makes me feel like I have a team working with me - doing the math in the background on each book, and making a recommendation. Now that I have been working at it for a while, I have some perspective and can tweak my decisions, but having the baseline info with ways to dive deeply quickly has been imperative (all data points are clickable - the reasons/more info about each one). It has had my back while helping me learn.

Unexpected benefit - I didn’t expect to use SCOUTIQ when I am listing - but I do - to see what a recommended price point is. This comes in handy when evaluating against the buy box price and assessing textbook pricing. Another teammate weighing in. Soooo helpful.

How’s the tech support? When I had an issue (today) I emailed my question to the scoutiq team, and got a response within 90 minutes. Crucial when hustling. The response time, the thoroughness and hitting 10k scans were all drivers for submitting this review.

Oh, and I live in Kansas. Some of my book locations can be remote, let’s say. Having the dbase version is vital!! Happy scanning!

Accuracy and Consistency Need to be Improved

I used the app with multiple accounts for over a year until I got fed up. Live works fine and is easy to use. Database is so inaccurate you cannot trust it. If you do, you will be making terrible purchases and missing good ones.

I contacted the help about this and they said to delete the app to clear the cache. This isn’t the issue. My team would source together. Live and database scans gave very different results. I had to double check everything with live, which resulted in throwing back half of what database told me to get. This was time consuming and frustrating. There’s no telling how many good ones I missed using database. Before I stated double checking with live I was making a lot of bad purchases also.

The app is fine with live only. Database is a frustrating waste of money.
