Use Screenflick Remote to control Screenflick running on your Mac. Using the remote, you can start a recording, pause, resume, and stop, all without the Screenflick interface being visible in your final recording. You can even control Screenflick running on multiple Macs at the same time!
Remote connections require WiFi to be enabled on your iPhone device, and Screenflick version 2.7 or later running on OS X Yosemite or later.
Fixes an interface layout issue with Macs with long names.

This app does NOT work on phones
Developer Response ,
Screenflick Remote is made exclusively for iPhone, so it does work, though it's a bummer to hear it didn't work for you! It would be interesting to find out how and why.
Well Put Together
I love this app because I can remotely control my recording and see how long the video is. I would recommend Screenflick even though it's $30 on your Mac.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
