• A VNC Server, such as UltraVNC or TightVNC, is required to connect to a Windows PC.
• Windows and Linux PCs can only send or receive text and URLs.
• Screens will not receive any sound from your computer. This is a limitation of the RFB protocol the app is using.
• Screens Connect requires OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later. You will need to create a free Screens ID.

Ratings and Reviews
Indispensable for multiple devices
Use this with two MacBook Pros, a Mac Mini, iPad and iPhone. This is quite possibly one of my most used apps throughout the day. Every day. Great help in our house or from anywhere that our Wi-Fi will reach. It saves a lot of time and effort. Note the developer offers additional Mac component, which I don't need, to safely link your devices from outside your local network.
Interface is clean, uncluttered, simply intuitive. Improvements and occasional issues are very well-managed with timely updates. I have contacted developer by email with tech support questions and always receive timely personal response.
Native Alternative for Mac Remote Connect
Couldn’t rate this app better, I’ve been looking for a secure option alternative to using screen sharing native to Mac OS. You may find other screenshqring apps, but this one uses apples native screen sharing server, as long as you have a static IP. If not, they have a desktop app that basically is a DDNS. With this app, I no longer need a Mac to connect securely to another Mac. I no longer use a desktop app because my computers are on a static IP, and I no longer need to pay monthly to a Splashtop or log Me in. This app is the best!
Unreliable and Crippled When It Does Work
Screens rarely connects with any of the machines I try to use it with, all of which are logged in and available according to the companion software, Screens Connect. Back to My Mac is far more reliable (and that's a sorry state of affairs).
When Screens does work, it has the annoying attribute of requiring permission from the local user of a machine if you are logging in with an VNC user that is not the local user, even an administrative user. This is highly annoying as it really limits the usefulness of Screens. Half the time I want to use it to control a remote Mac, I cannot because of this requirement. Again, this is not a limitation on Back to My Mac, or many other VNC apps.
Developer Response ,
If you are experiencing connectivity issues, please contact us a firstname.lastname@example.org. As for the permission requests, this is normal behaviour if you’re asking to share a session without a password instead of performing a simple connection with your Mac user credentials. If you’re connecting with an admin account but don’t want to have to request a permission, simply turn on Remote Management instead of Screen Sharing. Anyway, do not hesitate to contact us!
