Some vendor delivery problems

I’ve been using Seemless/GrubHub for years and never had a problem- until the other night. In NYC this past Tuesday night it was raining. When the whether is bad you kinda expect a delay in food delivery, but this one took the case. No only did the delivery guy claim to have delivered my food, he refused to answer the phone for me And the restaurant he works for. After all the calling back and forth, it’s now 11 p.m. and I knew I wouldn’t be able to get such healthy food at such an hour. So I decided to re-order the food and went to the restaurant to pick it up and paid cash.
I told the restaurant to take the $$ for my order out of his pay to make sure He didn’t get away with it. At least I was reimbursed for the order I Never received.... who would think about doing such a thing?
Besides, it’s Not like he got into an accident, maybe skidding in the water because of the rain... (yes, that happened before), but at least I got my food from a restaurant I always order from, so I knew my delivery guy on that run... This was the 1st time I ordered from this deli, but I see I’ll have to pick up my food from now on from this one.
Otherwise, I love the convenience of ordering food <3.

Has declined in quality since the GrubHub merger

The app itself has a lot of issues, when there’s an issue - hall of mirrors menu options, 2 different ways to do nothing about it, etc. To be fair the customer care team is reasonably helpful when you can finally get in touch with them and prompt with refunds. There is also a weird thing going on in NYC where there are multiple vendors offering slightly different takes on a main ingredient at the same address, that turns out to be a single deli or counter service bakery. This really has to be policed because like Wayfair knockoffs it pollutes search results and steals business from legit single-focus restaurants, which are suffering already. Seamless also needs to do more helping restaurants convert their menus to an online format, with photos, time-of-day service changes, and so on. And the photos themselves need to be fullscreenable + zoomable, not cropped in the closeup entree images to a sliver of the image from the main menu.

Update: Minus another star for not correcting the above, and also because it’s been years since they refused to add a filter to remove closed restaurants from search results. Only-Contact Delivery with Seamless-

First, I tried to get Seamless+ three times each, on two different types of cards and it will repeatedly come back with an error. So I’ve been paying for the fees even though I’m willing to pay for Seamless+. But I thought if they’re good, they’re worth the money. Yeah…the restaurants are good. Second, there’s a specific area for delivery instructions. I will make this as clear as I can because EVERY. SINGLE. ORDER. I have set the delivery instructions for “contact-free” “drop off location: front door” and “notification: text me”. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. All of the drivers call me, knock or ring the doorbell, AND if I don’t answer, some will leave with the food. (Every single time means six orders that actually went through..) Thirdly, eight of my orders were cancelled and I waited for them, but there wasn’t even one notification letting me know. Once I saw they were late past the eta, I saw that the app/restaurant had cancelled my order. I thought tonight I’d give it one last shot. 6 successful orders, 5 stupid drivers and 8 cancelled without notifying me. Tonight I wrote my delivery instructions out in ALL CAPS and it seemed to do the trick…oh wait…I said “TEXT ME” and I guess they missed that part because they freaking didn’t. Maybe I’m just lucky and they decided to only do this to me? Anyway I think I’m good. Good luck everyone.

Update: can’t even delete the account. “Sorry, there was an issue” shocker.
