Description

SecondClock is a small status menu app giving you a second clock in the right part of the menu bar.
You can select from all time zones and customize the name shown to fit your needs.

It's meant to track the time of a colleague or friend working or living in a different time zone to check if it's 'safe' to call them.

The time zones can be selected from all over the world. In addition fun new time naming systems, like .beat internet time, new earth time and UNIX timestamps are available.

If desired, the app can be launched automatically when logging in.
To reposition SecondClock inside the status bar, simply hold the command key (⌘) while dragging it to the preferred position.

Now buggy

I can't figure out how to report a bug. I used to use this on my OSX Mojave and it worked flawlessly. But I just had to wipe my harddrive and re-set up my Mac (still Mojave) and now it doesn't work right anymore. I select a time zone, then it changes. Then I change the name and it doesn't change until I change the time zone. Then everything will be fine for about 30 seconds until the time resets itself to my local time. Bummer!

Hi MeghanH87,

I know it's quite late, but I think I was able to solve this bug.

Exactly what I wanted

I have clients on the West Coast and I'm on the East Coast. I needed to know what time it was on the West Coast at a glance and wanted it in the task bar. This is perfect! So easy to install and it launches on startup. Excellent!

Hi Dani,

thanks. I'm happy that you like my small app.

Not Ready for Prime Time

This app does not work with Ventura 13.4.1. It does not open on the MacBook Pro M2 machine. I was wary that the app may be too old to run with the current Apple OS. Hopefully, there will be a disclaimer in th future other "outdated" applicadtions.

Developer Response ,

Hi Ruexpd. I‘m currently in the process of completely rewriting the app for the latest OS versions. I can‘t give you a release date yet, but I‘m aware that the app needs an update.

I‘ve rebuilt the app (Version 1.2.15) on my M1 Mac running the latest Ventura. I don’t know any reason why it should fail on a M2 Mac. It would be great if you could check again. Thanks a lot.
