I opened my checking account so I could easily pay on the car loan car loan I have with Security Service. I added funds as required 2 days ago and noticed the funds aren’t available to pay on the loan so I called the help number. After about 20 minutes on hold the person I talked to looked into it and said the funds would be on hold for a few more says which isn’t a big deal. My problem is for new customers transfers or online check deposit through the app won’t be available for 60 more days. The only reason I opened the account was so I could transfer or deposit checks online so I could pay on my loan before the first payment due to reduce the interest accrued. I’ll have $100 in interest by the time I can transfer or deposit checks online. He said I can call in to pay it but I really don’t have to be on hold for 20-30 minutes and also if paid with a card there is a $7.95 fee to pay. I have multiple car loans through a different local credit union and never had these issues. Maybe it’s for security purposes, idk but I don’t see how how this will help me more than the difficulty it causes. On the bright side so far everyone I’ve have talked to on the phone has been very helpful which is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 1.
Good but could use work on check deposit
This app is good don't get me wrong but when I tried to do the deposit by phone it took me 10 times to do it till finally I gave up and drove to a near by branch to deposit the check. I attempted to do the mobile deposit in several rooms in my house and had all my lights on even a flash light. And still said could not read. Then I even went as far as going outside in the sun to do it and still said could not read it. I have an iPhone 7 plus so the camera on these phones are superb so I just don't see why it would tell me this error in trying to use the mobile deposit. Disappointed in that little issue but over all a good app. Please help with that issue. Thank you.
There’s a lot to be desired
The app performs basic functions pretty well. So if all you want from it is to be able to transfer money between accounts at the credit union, and all you have is a savings and checking account, you’ll be great! However, if you have multiple checking/savings accounts, good luck. Your accounts will constantly switch places as you transfer money between them. It’s annoying to have to search through your accounts every single time to find the one you’re looking for.
It also doesn’t allow you to transfer money externally from the app, even if you have set it up using online banking. They don’t seem to take feedback whatsoever either. I’ve voiced my frustrations with the app multiple times (I used to work there and did it internally as well), and something so simple has yet to be fixed. I love the credit union and everyone is so friendly in the branches but having an app that does so little.
There is a perks sections of the app, but it’s not intuitive to use by any means. It also seems like there’s an extra step to a lot of the apps functions. The credit union itself deserves 5 stars, but the app comes out with 2
UPDATE: They finally got back to me and had fixed the accounts overview page. So if you have multiple accounts, you may need to delete the app and reinstall it, but it will now keep your accounts all in the same order as online banking.
