Works but poorly
It works to start a session but the UI is bad. First, the map of stations is zoomed out rather than local so you have to hunt to find your specific location. Second, the app immediately closes after you start a session. There is no confirmation that it worked. You have to re-open the app or look at the station to confirm. The amount of energy consumed is confusing- am I charged or not? The Kw on the app aren’t consistent with the ones on the station. No notification is provided that your vehicle is charged. Huge room for improvement here.
Horrible app design doesn’t still charges every try
Tried to use the app since the hotel had this as the only option. App design is horrific. After a 15 minutes struggle to initiate the app (fields don’t move, no prompts for credit card no navigational controls) I finally managed to figure it all out. The station turned green and gave me a series of contradictory messages seemingly reeling me to start charging and ready and card invalid at the same time. Used different card - no reaction at all at the station. Called support - they said “good morning!” It was 12 midnight. Ok. Explained the situation and that both my cards showed a $20 successful charges for 2 attempts and $11 for the third attempt for some reason. Answer from support: “so I understand you are having issues with your car charging”. An understatement of the year. Could not get anywhere beyond that, talking past each other. Finally she says “we will call you in the morning” lol. Then she hung up without ask for my phone number.
Just my experience. Hope you have a better one but indicative of the way they run the company. Will be looking for the Tesla superC in the morning.
Reliable charger if a bit expensive
I live in MA and charge at my office once or twice a week to top up. It's the main way I charge. I have had my car for about 6 weeks now and am within $4 of needing to refill my initial $20 balance. So driving an EV is super cheap but I have noticed that since the charge is based on time rather than how much energy is delivered the cost per mile can vary a lot. Also, at my charger don't overstay as the rate jumps after 4 hours of charging. Especially when the other Model 3 Tesla is also charging at the other stall! Still, super happy that this option is available to me since I live in an apartment building that has no charging (yet). And honestly, I would have filled up my old car, a gas guzzling Prius, at least 3 times for about the same cost. So, uh, yeah, EV rocks and this is a great option. The app is fine, too.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
