Thought this did more "SEO"

Ok, I got this thinking it helped you to determine the best tags using current SEO information. All this actually does is displays a "form" that you have to fill out with information and then it "writes the meta tag" for you. There's no real background info in it about SEO standards and practices. Although it does offer to "sell" you a lot of other items. Honestly, I could have done this by searching the internet for SEO terms and then using notepad to write the metatags.

IWeb SEO by RageSW

I found this app after I purchased my Mac Book Pro in March. When IWeb offered no SEO support, I told the sales person how disappointed I was. He promptly downloaded this app from the RageSW website. The end of July, Apple stopped offerening iWeb on their new computers. Lion does NOT support iWeb.

In other words, Apple has hung all of their loyal customers out to dry. This software is supposed to save an .xml file to my hard drive for back up. I say supposed to, 'cause it did NOT. I have a 40-page website and all of the hours and hours of entering in the SEO information is GONE! I got zero information.

I contacted Rage SW, and they reminded they have lost complete interest in offering tech support cause Apple has hung them out to dry, too. Oh, well Apple is big and can hurt the little guy.

Rage SW reminded me that the software was free. So, that means it:

1) doesn't have to work
2) they don't have to offer pleasant tech support
3) they can wait three days before they give me any information.

After all -- it is FREE. Don't bother with RageSW. Don't bother learning iWeb unless it is for a personal use project. If you need a website for your business, find something else. I am in the process of transferring over to using WordPress. It is free, but it just works. I sorta thought that WAS the reputation of Apple. Three strikes and I'm out.

iWeb files can not be edited beyond your local files

Forget it; even if you edit your files in dashcode or seo tool or whatever HTML editor you use, Apple had make certain that unless you change their program, namely iWeb itself, you can not upload your edited files to a server; neither FileZilla or any other ftp uploader will allow you to upload edited files to your web hosting device or service provider. Text Edit, Dashcode will not work either. files published to your deshtop will reflect edited iWeb files, however when you upload them, they will not reflect your edits. If you don't believe this simply open the developer console in safari when you bring up your site and guess what, they will not be there. Good luck, don't waste your money, those developer are laughing all the way to the bank.
