IT administrators can use Server Admin Remote to monitor Mac OS X Server services on the go.

With the Server Admin Remote IT administrators can monitor the alive status of OS X Server services, start/stop services and observe the services' logs (OS X Server 5).

Server Admin Remote ist developed by Mac OS X Administrators and is like the swiss-army knife for the mobile Mac OS X Server Admin. Unlike ssh and remote terminal solutions it provides a userfriendly overview of the server's state.

Works on EDGE, WiFi and 3G connections. No further installation on your Mac OS X Server needed, since Server Admin Remote uses the same interface as Mac OS X Server Admin.

Indispensable for OS X Server

I bought a Mac Mini to build an HTPC box—the Mini came with OS X Server, which I didn't really want. Over a year of ownership, I learned just how powerful and easy the Mini is to set up my own private cloud services: private web proxy, email, VPN, VNC, calendaring, addressing, chat, web server—the works. I use this little app all the time for checking status, backups, logs, HTPC disk usage, and most everything else. It's very close to five stars if it could replicate useful Server Admin functionality like updates and restarts, all with opt-in security settings.

...with the latest release which fixes the SSL issue, I have finally a solution better than SSH for routine system monitoring etc.

One only asks oneself: why does a third party have to reverse engineer such a thing, instead of Apple providing such a solution from day one?

Pricey but very handy

I've found a lot of use for this application. I initially put off purchasing it for a few months, given the expense, but I've used it on the iPhone off and on for a while now and it's been a real gem. Many times I've found I can diagnose issues, or simply double check service status without resorting to a VNC connection. On the iPhone 3G this runs fairly slowly (WiFi is slightly better), but still much faster than VNC. But on the iPad (WiFi), this app screams and the UI is brilliant. I cannot stress enough how thankful I am that they opted to release the iPad version as a universal binary rather than the now standard practice of "HD" upcharge nonsense.

Great App ... seriously. Thank you!
