Great Puzzle Learning App
If you are looking for an app that promotes both hand/eye coordination as well as word recognition, this is the app for you.
The graphics, design and music, are all very pleasing to the eyes and ears. The puzzles are more challenging than what I've found in similar apps. That's a good thing because I believe they will hold the child's interest longer. The app also helps to introduce new written words which is most helpful to new readers.
I definitely recommend this app.
The idea for this app is cool, but they claim that they made it with little fingers in mind. This is not true. This app does not support multi-touch, meaning that when any part of my 17 month-old's hands are touching the screen in any area, he can not move the puzzle piece at all. As you can imagine, this causes extreme frustration and annoyance, and before I can stop him, he is bashing my iPad on the floor.
I emailed the developer over a month ago to ask them to incorporate multi-touch (like every good educational kids' app does) and they didn't even so much as respond to my email. I had no choice but to write this review and warn you to steer clear from this app. Check out Endless Alphabet instead. Same concept, better implementation, more educational, and most importantly, multi-touch capable.
My 3 year old has really loved this app. She loves being able to choose a puzzle and change the color - usually to pink. I really have no complaints abound this app, but I have 2 ideas that might be convenient.
With my 3-year old we're doing a Letter of the Week. We'll play this game and I'll have her look through the puzzles for one that starts with our weekly letter. It would be nice if I could either puzzles that start with a specific letter (I.e "D")- that way she could see all the puzzles that start "D" and we wouldn't have to search through all the puzzles to find them.
Also, it would be cool if for older kids, there was a way to force them to put in the letter pieces in order. This would help with word recognition and getting used to spelling.
Overall, love this app!! Highly recommended.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
