Description
Shareful makes the system share menu even more useful by providing some commonly needed share services:
- Copy — Copy the shared item to the clipboard and so you can quickly paste it into another app.
- Save to Downloads — Quickly save a shared item to the Downloads directory.
- Save As — Choose a directory to save the shared item to.
- Open In — Open the shared item in any app.
When enabled, these share services will be available in any app that has a system share button. Examples of such apps include: Finder, Safari, Notes, Photos, Contacts, Maps, Music, Voice Memos, TextEdit, Podcasts, TV, App Store, Chrome, Tweetbot, and Sketch.
Tip: You can open the current Safari URL in a different browser. In Safari, click the share button, select “Open In…”, and then select a browser.
> Usage example: Quickly copy a screenshot to the clipboard
Capture a screenshot, click the screenshot thumbnail, click the share button, and select “Copy”.

Mitigates Safari's frequent inability to copy an image
I recently switched back to macOS and as part of that thought I'd go all in and give Safari a fair shake (coming from Chrome). While Safari has mostly been okay, one of my common use cases is searching for an image and sharing it with friends via the "Copy Image" contextual menu. Unfortunately, most of the time this results in you just getting a URL to said image, which is frustrating.
After Googling the issue, I saw someone recommend this app which creates a workaround of sorts by giving you a "Copy" share action that will actually copy the image to the clipboard. It's an extra click, but it works, and that's what matters. Some of the share actions look useful too and I look forward to giving them a shot once I have some use cases for them.
Thank you for your work!
Absolute godsend
I would give it 4 stars except I can't blame Sindre for Apple's problems. That is, the "copy" option from this app is present even when Apple's "copy" option is present and this seems to be out of Sindre's hands (Apple-side issue). This, and many of Sindre's free apps fulfill functions that have been absent from Apple OS as far as I can remember. Oh, and the apps are beutiful to boot. Sindre, I think you and Iconfactory (App Store dev and creator of "Tot" app) could create some amazing apps together. "Tot" is like a feature-rich version of your Plain Text Edit. I have both because PTE serves purposes that Tot isn't meant for and vice-versa.
Very nice addition to Share
Perfect. Does exactly what it says it'll do, and fixes a much desired feature. I've never understood why Apple didn't include 'copy' and 'save as' by default (yes, I get that there are other ways, but this is just a clean and simple workflow). Love it.
My only suggestion (which might be impossible to implement): If there *is* a defualt copy item in the Share menu, it would be nice if Shareful opted to *not* add it's own, thus avoiding the occasional duplicate, e.g., "Copy Link" (from Apple) and "Copy" (from Shareful). But that's a real nit-picky complaint. :)
Developer Response ,
The share actions are not aware of each other, so there’s no way of knowing that there’s already a similar one there.
