Patience was tested

Product is mildly infuriating. The devices would not link up to Starlink. I established another network (netgear) and used a different browser to register them to the new network.
If you are having problems it may be your network(router) or the browser you are using.
Based on my experience, Starlink and Safari did not play nicely with the Shelly devices network reassignment procedure.

App experience terrible but devices are amazing

1 out of 4 RGBW2 would rconnect and upgrade firmware in the app. The other three would fail to “connect to the cloud” resulting in a failure to adopt. I found the archive firmware link and manually upgraded all devices. I use Home Assistant exclusively but figured I would give the app a try. It’s horrible. It’s disappointing because the devices are so great and I fear people won’t use them because of this terrible app.

Of the one device that did connect if found the “room” requirement to adopt (if not hidden) clunky I also didn’t find it easy to move devices to different rooms.

Really Shelly should push Home Assistant and their hardware more and this app less. I’ll give it a try next update but would not recommend at this point in time.

A little help please.

The app just assumes you know what it’s trying to do. Search for a new device: it must be on the same Wi-Fi network, but it has its own Wi-Fi network. I can never find the device! I set it up using it’s network, connect it to MY network. But then it’s gone! It’s up and working right now, but I can NEVER see it. I just want to turn off the Wi-Fi network that it is broadcasting, I can’t connect to it to get into the settings! Ugh! So frustrating! The part is great but when “look” for it I. The app, it locks me into the search page and I can’t go back to change the network it’s trying to search on. Grrrrr. The apps needs some serious help. It should be more intuitive. Maybe have some directions and explanations as I’m trying to set these things up.
