This app offers the possibility to control all Shelly devices remotely. You can monitor and control your devices from anywhere (by using the cloud option) or, if you do not want the Cloud option, you will still be able to monitor and control your devices from within your local network. Shelly devices do not need to be connected to the cloud or to send data there.
The Shelly Home Automation portfolio includes a variety of relay switches, sensors, plugs, bulbs, and other controllers, all connected and controlled through your Wi-Fi network. The new Shelly Plus and Shelly Pro lines of products additionally support Bluetooth connectivity for faster device inclusion and communication, and the new Shelly Pro line offers LAN and Wi-Fi usage simultaneously. Shelly devices are suitable to control lights, garage doors, curtains, window blinds, or other appliances, trigger actions based on certain parameters from sensor devices. Devices provide near real time notification on changes of the parameters they are measuring - energy consumption, temperature other environment values.
All Shelly devices have:
- Embedded Web server
- Wi-Fi control and connectivity
- APIs for observation and control
A user account is required to access, include, and control Shelly devices through the application. Once Shelly account is registered, you can:
- Connect the devices to an existing W-Fi network or use their Access Point mode locally to control other Shelly devices;
- Include, manage, and operate as many Shelly devices as you need;
- Configure devices and manage individual settings on every device;
- Configure custom scheduling for automatic actions;
- Create personalized rooms for more convenient organising and control of the devices;
- Define custom Groups of devices to control multiple devices with one command within the app;
- Build simple and complex scenes by combining Shelly devices to trigger certain actions in your home automation;
- Monitor current and past electrical power consumption of the electrical circuit(s) and loads (for Shelly devices equipped with Power-measuring capabilities);
- Build complex automation solutions for improved energy and operational efficiency;
- Receive real time alerts and notifications based on your preference.
Shelly devices are compatible with other widely used both local and cloud-based home automation platforms like Google Home or Alexa.

Asks for password WiFi and uses BT at the same time
It’s very confusing, in the product description it says it has Bluetooth but then when you download and install the app it forces you to give them your WiFi password. If you change your router there is no option to re register the new router, at least not that I can find one in the confusing interface. You have to signe out and reinstall then register everything again.
The app also doesn’t update in your other devices when a switch has been turned off or on. I.e. you turn a switch off in your tablet and it still show as switch on in your other devices.

We thank you for your report and all the points given as feedback for the app. Currently there is a way to change the devices from one router to another in mass by marking them all and changing the network they need to connect to in both name and password. however this should be done while you still have connection to your old router. The connectivity of the app on your devices may be a bug, on which we recommend contacting support, as the account should be the same and thus all devices should be seeing the same status of the devices, if a device is on, on one device, it should be shown as such on all your devices with the same account. Requires you to make an account
I bought shelly because its products and app did NOT require cloud anything. Now you replaced your old app with a "Shelly Experience". Well this "experience" of having to make an account with some online service is not what I bought your devices for. Shelly, you now get to "experience" this customer leaving... -10 stars if I could.

Thank you for the feedback and we're sorry for your frustration. You can login in this app with the account you have previously used with the old app and use your devices locally as you did before. There's no change in this functionality. If you don't remember your account you can email us at support@shelly.cloud and send us some of your devices ids to check them on our side.
