A shrunken head, an illicit manuscript, and the lady of the house found strangled on the library floor. One by one Sherlock uncovers the secrets of Chiltarn Lodge – until the murderer comes for him.
"Ink Spotters is, by far, the best interactive story app I have ever encountered." -BakerStreetBabes.com
A brand new interactive graphic novel by NY Times best-selling author Sean Stewart.
More than just a story, you will use your wits to follow Sherlock as he investigates a murder in the English country manor of intrepid explorer Sir Ronald Chadwick.
The Art of Detection reads like a comic … except that every page is hidden but one. You come to that first page like a detective arriving at a crime scene. Your challenge: find the clues that will uncover the rest of the story.
Getting started is simple–just type a word you think might lead to more of the story. You might want to learn more about the "ASH" sprinkled on the victim’s desk, the “FLASK” hidden behind a bookshelf, or discover why Watson is hidden in the “CLOSET”
Each clue you find unlocks another page, and brings you closer to solving the case!
The Last Breath has more than 100 gorgeous panels to unlock. Do a couple between chores, or settle in for hours of entertainment. When you have uncovered the last page, you’ll have a beautifully illustrated adventure that's yours to keep forever.
THE GAME IS AFOOT!
The Last Breath is the latest release from Ink Spotters, a new game publisher from interactive fiction pioneer Sean Stewart and casual gaming vets Ed Allard and Matt Scott (Feeding Frenzy, Bejeweled, Plants vs Zombies).
“Ink Spotters is, by far, the best interactive story app I have ever encountered, and the game feels like an essential part of the experience. It’s not a comic book with a gaming element as an afterthought; it’s a full-fledged mystery game with a story as its reward.”
“Mixing the puzzles with the story made me feel like I was on the trail with Mr. Holmes himself! Deductive word-bending mystery solving at its best!”
– Graeme Devine, creator of The 7th Guest
“A true innovation in graphic narrative. Ink Spotters seamlessly merge great stories with a format that empowers each reader to discover them in a unique way.”
-- Jordan Weisman, creator of BattleTech, Shadowrun, WizKids and FASA.
“Ink Spotters are both beautiful and addictive. Built by one of the best storytellers in the world, they will keep both experienced and first-time gamers entertained. Highly recommended!”
-- Elan Lee, creator of Exploding Kittens

Ratings and Reviews
Eagerly awaiting the next one.
As other reviews say, this is less of a game and more of an interesting way to read but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun. I enjoyed it and would really like to see more. This would also be an excellent way to help struggling readers and develop critical thinking skills. I can see some genuine educational usage stemming from this app.
when can I get the next one?
I think it is perhaps best to think of ink spotters less as a game and more as a really cool way to read. The process of unlocking panels mirrors the experience of finding and tracking clues. I would immediately buy any ink spotters app.
This is the second Ink Spotters game I have played. It is interesting to try and unlock the whole story. However, if you get stuck the game does have a hint button if you get stuck. I would recommend this to anyone who likes murder mystery visual novels.
