Good stuff

This game’s been a lot of fun to play and it’s kept me busy for hours. It had a nostalgic 90s vibe and a cool level select option after you best the game.

Has potential but could be better

Reminds me a lot of Metroid, (no doubt the inspiration for this game) however my main gripe that made me dislike it was the controls and movement speed. I often found the platforming to be very difficult, either I’d undershot the jump, or I’d flat out not move because I wasn’t jumping at all. The movement speed also really makes it hard to focus and and kill an enemy, plus go from one platform to another. I found myself running into targets or not being able to jump properly, frankly I felt like my own worst enemy.

Thanks for playing, and sharing your thoughts! I was considering adding jump buffering to a future release. Maybe that would help? Also, I’m not sure if you found the movement speed too fast or too slow (or if you were expecting a sense of momentum that wasn’t there?). I’m always looking to improve the game. As an aside, the game has support for external Bluetooth controllers, so maybe that might work better for you if that’s practical. Terrible

Controls are poorly designed and clunky. There’s no tutorial.

Hey Dude, thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts. Could you elaborate on what about the controls are “clunky”? Also curious about what you would like to see in a tutorial. The intention is that the first level is easy enough to sandbox and figure out the game’s mechanics but maybe I didn’t convey that effectively.
