Description

Side Mirror is the ultimate 2nd display utility for presenters.

Presenting on Zoom but don't want to share your entire screen? Using a cheap dummy HDMI dongle you can use Side Mirror to view and interact with the virtual display (this requires a separate hardware HDMI dongle).

Doing an in-person presentation, but don't want to mirror your displays? Stop looking over your shoulder! Side Mirror gives you a preview window of what's happening on the other display so you can do live demos without having to crane your neck back at the projector screen.

You can kind of think of it as a "VNC for your other display".

Not mirroring your display offers some advantages during presentations:

- Have a set of notes you can refer to
- Keep a list of code snippets to copy/paste
- Keep a folder of presentation files you need quick access to in an open Finder window
- Click through the window to magically teleport your mouse to the other display, exactly where you clicked

Side Mirror is an essential tool for:

- Presenters
- Educators
- Live Demos

What’s New

Version 2.5

This is a huge update!

**New Resize option**

Resize the Side Mirror window to match the target display resolution. You're given 3 options to scale the Side Mirror window to match the target display. If it the main display can't accommodate it, it does a best fit.

**Snap Back Cursor**

Enable this in preferences. This is a keyboard shortcut to have your mouse jump back to the Side Mirror window.

**Cursor Hinting**

Enable this in preferences. This will highlight the Side Mirror preview when your mouse moves to the target display. This can be useful as a guide to let you know which display your mouse is on. You can customize the color in preferences as well.

**Remember last display**

Side Mirror will now remember the last display used and automatically select it on subsequent launches, if it is available.

**Keyboard Shortcuts**

There’s now a keyboard shortcut to stop/start the preview

**Bug Fixes**

- disable click-through after stopping recording
- stop recording if a display suddenly becomes unavailable
- show “Untitled” for displays that report an empty name
- Fix an issue that would cause the preview to suddenly stop

*This will be the last release that supports macOS Catalina.*

Great for Teachers

I'm a history teacher. I present using keynote daily from my mac to an apple tv. I wanted to be able to extend my screen rather than mirror so that I could have my email, attendence/seating chart, ect on my screen at all times while still seeing what was being prestented to students. It does take a little practice to get efficient working this way. You still have to move your mouse over to the extended display to interact with the windows on that screen.

This app works great for what I needed. A few comments said it didn't work with air play devices. I contacted the developer before buying the app to verify this was true. He responded very quickly and let me know the app does work with air play. I tried it in my classroom and it works great!

Simple and powerful

It does exacrtly what it says it does, really fast.

NOTE: when starting the first time in MacOS Catelina there will be a permission request window that appears behind the main window. The app won't work correctly unditl you deal with that permission request.

Great utility app! A must have for public presentations.

I frequently have to project my screen in front of different audiences - up until now I was stuck with either mirroring my display (and having everything 100% visible) or extending my display (and having to turn around constantly and fumble around with the mouse cursor/etc. Side Mirror is great because it lets me keep my personal notes in front of me, and when I move my cursor to work on the other screen, I can still see everything I'm doing in front of me. This lets me keep my face to the audience while i'm presenting. Definitely recommend - a must buy!
