Step 1: Make sure you have an IP camera or webcam connected to your computer and download the Sighthound Video desktop software from the Sighthound website

Good when (if) it works

Like others, I agree that it is in desperate need of an update. As it is now, it is unreliable. Half the time, a camera cannot connect. Other times, clips won’t play. I have this on my iPad and iPhone. The iPhone version works better. I can’t wait for the rumored update coming.

Abandoned?

As everyone has mentioned, this app is outdated and slow. It cost me a onetime fee of $250 for a Pro license (unlimited cameras), and $50 per year for support/updates. This would be justified if Sighthound Video’s SDLC wasn’t so slow. I doubt Sighthound Video generates significant profits compared to Sighthound’s other products (ALPR, Redactor, Sentinel, Cloud API, IO), so I can see how it’s a lower priority, but it’s been over 3 years since the iPhone X was released, and the UI still hasn’t been updated for larger iPhone screens! I wouldn’t be surprised if they abandon Sighthound Video altogether — they’ve definitely abandoned the iOS app.

Please please update the app

The service and features of Sighthound on the computer are great BUT the app has lagged behind and not been updated for sometime. Missing features, still doesn’t support larger FaceID devices either in full size or with the FaceID login.
Slow to render and see live video. Near impossible to see video history.
Please update the app. I’d love to keep the service but I can’t warrant paying for the support or updates of the main software if the iOS app doesn’t get maintained.
