- The IO Device Configuration menu features some changes related to audio sample rates. We have found that in recent versions of iOS, the sample rate will almost always stay set to 48 kHz when the audio input and output routes do not belong to a single audio hardware device. So, when you want to run data analysis or acquisition at higher or lower sample rates for a dedicated input device, like a USB microphone or accelerometer, this iOS behavior makes that impossible. To address this issue, SignalScope now allows you to disable audio output so you can operate your input device at the desired sample rate. With audio output disabled, virtual output channels are still available for analyzing signals from the Signal Generator or File Player tools. - In addition to the option to operate input devices at different sample rates, SignalScope now presents a list of supported sample rates for select hardware devices instead of a text field for manual entry of the desired sample rate. So, if you’re performing vibration measurements with e.g. a Digiducer USB accelerometer, you can select from a list of known supported sample rates (between 8 and 48 kHz) instead of using trial and error to manually find a supported sample rate that more closely matches your analysis needs. - An option to disable audio output mixing with other apps has also been added. In earlier versions of SignalScope, output mixing was always enabled. This option doesn’t have any effect when audio output is disabled. - Fixed an issue in which the sample rate of the Signal Generator tool might not be immediately updated if the sample rate changed while the tool was running. - Fixed an issue that would sometimes stop the Signal Generator tool if the sample rate changed while the tool was running. - Addressed some cosmetic issues.

- The IO Device Configuration menu now includes a Soft Gain option in the output options section. The software gain is a digital scale factor applied to all output signals just before they are sent to the hardware. The intent of this is to support listening to low level signals (play-through or internally-generated) in potentially noisy environments. - Re-loading data files at launch for averaged data in the Octave, FFT, and Dual FFT analyzer tools has been made more robust. - Fixed some cosmetic issues.

- More general improvements, including more informative alerts in certain cases when loading a data file fails. - Fixed a potential crash in the Dual FFT Analyzer and another that sometimes occurred when Run In Background was switched off.

- Improved handling of data and audio files. On newer versions of iOS, external files (e.g. on iCloud Drive) can be opened in-place instead of being copied into the app sandbox before opening. - Significant improvements have been made 'under the hood' to ensure that the app runs well on the newest operating systems. - Another normalization option has been added to the Polar plot. Polar data can now be normalized with respect to the maximum value, rather than the value at 0 degrees. - Other minor cosmetic and stability improvements. - Several improvements have been made for when SignalScope is run on Apple Vision Pro: - The local IP address is updated correctly for sharing data files from SignalScope through a standard web browser (using SignalScope's built-in http file server). - Nominal Vision Pro microphone sensitivity has been added. - Zoom, pan, and swipe gestures now work much better.

This update fixes a bug in the limit to how many subtools can be added to the MultiTool on iPhone.

The Polar Plot level scale now properly updates the values per division according to the selected number of divisions in the Display Options menu.

- The Polar Plot supports new display options, including data normalization at 0 degrees and the option to close the path (connect the last and first data points with a line). - Support for a few basic Shortcuts (e.g Start, Stop, Save Data) to enable control of SignalScope via the Shortcuts app, Siri, or AppleScript. The Shortcuts feature requires at least iOS 16 or macOS 13.

- The Spectrogram now supports user-selected min and max frequencies. - The Spectrogram now supports graphing with time on the vertical axis (consistent with a typical LOFARgram). - The Spectrogram includes an Auto Stop function for stopping after a user-defined period of time. - When exporting Spectrogram data to a file, the magnitude data will be stored as decibel values when the dB scale is selected for magnitude values in the display settings. - Support added for the latest Digiducer USB Digital Accelerometer models. - Other cosmetic and minor improvements.

- Help files now adjust to dark mode. - The Recorder tool no longer reports a problem when audio file metadata is successfully saved in the file. - Fixed a bug which hid the last physical input channel's gain controls on Mac. - Other cosmetic and stability improvements.

- Fixed a bug that would cause SignalScope to crash when exporting Octave log data to a text file (csv, txt).

- New tool: Sound Intensity. Measure up to 3 axes of acoustic intensity, acoustic particle velocity, and acoustic pressure with 2-microphone sound intensity probes in whole or 1/3-octave bands, or in narrowband FFT-based spectra. The Sound Intensity tool was designed according to the requirements specified in ANSI standard S1.9-1996, Instruments for the Measurement of Sound Intensity. It offers phase compensation for each 2-mic (p-p) probe, means of measuring the pressure-residual-intensity index, and overload (clipping) indicators. It can also indicate the sign (positive or negative direction, relative to the orientation of the probe) of the intensity and velocity data in individual frequency bands as well as for overall levels. - New tool: Polar Plot. This tool makes it easy to make a beautiful graph of polar data, which can be saved to a high resolution PDF file. The Polar Plot offers auto and manual scaling, dB scale, and selectable orientation, direction, grid lines, and angles. It even offers a data cursor for examining specific values within the plot. - New basic tool: The Signal Generator tool has been moved from the Advanced to the Basic Tool Set. - New advanced tool: The File Player tool has been moved from the Pro to the Advanced Tool Set. - New Pro feature: When saving an audio or data file, up to 10 custom metadata entries, each consisting of a name and value, can be specified to be included in the file. Each custom metadata entry is remembered by the app until it is manually removed. Custom metadata entries can be enabled or disabled for inclusion in saved data files. - Input triggering in the Oscope and FFT tools now supports triggering all inputs from the same channel (selectable from any available input and output channels), or each channel self-triggering, as before. - The Oscope now offers additional, smaller time scales. Input triggering behavior has been improved at smaller time scales. - The Octave Analyzer tool now supports octave bands with center frequencies from 1 Hz to 64 kHz (depending on the sample rate) and 1/3 octave bands from 0.8 Hz to 80 kHz (depending on the sample rate). You can select the range of frequency bands to display in the Octave Analyzer tool's main graph. - The Signal Generator tool now supports multiple output channel selection for the left and right signals. - Frequency response compensation (FRC) now supports phase correction when phase information is included in import frequency response data (FRD) files. Phase information is shown in a separate graph in the FR Compensation menu. - Frequency response data, for FRC, can now be loaded from FFT or Dual FFT data files generated by SignalScope. - New color scheme: Gray. - In select tools, data import has moved from the options menu to a new menu of its own, which is found next to the input channel selection menu(s). - Expanded list of vertical scale selections. Selection can now be made from a list of available scales in the Display Options menu. - Under the hood improvements: Performance and robustness of the underlying software code have been enhanced in many areas of the app. - Cosmetic improvements can be found throughout the app.

- Fixed a text and audio data export bug that would cause the app to crash when there was no data in some analyzers. This could happen when triggering was enabled and no data was acquired on some or all channels. - The spectrogram cursor peak track works correctly with spectral smoothing applied. Also, when changing the peak track selection in various tools, the plot is updated immediately when the tool isn't running. - Cosmetic improvement in the Dual FFT Analyzer tool.

Extra, temporary copies of files loaded from external sources (e.g. iCloud Drive) no longer accumulate in the Inbox_2 folder.
