Experience an easy, yet an extremely heart-felt & intimate way to communicate with your partner.
With Significant Otter, you can take your relationship to the next level with biosignal sensors, a cutting-edge technology that’s built into your Apple Watch. There’s no texting, calling, or messaging involved. All you need to do is tap and you’ll instantly be in touch, literally.
Stay in tune with your loved one’s, feelings, and activities on your wrist. Feel & see what your partner is feeling. Significant Otter is an out of body, yet familiar experience that makes two, truly feel like one.
Social media is too public, texts are one-dimensional, and sometimes we just forget to let our partners know that we’re thinking of them. We’re all busy, but that shouldn’t be an excuse in a relationship.
HOW IT WORKS
Significant Otter utilizes biosignals, like your heart rate from the Health app, to understand how you & your partner are feeling. It’ll know when you’re feeling excited from a surprise, motivated from the gym, upset from work, and more. Once it senses a certain emotion, you’ll have the ability to send your partner that emotion by tapping on your Apple Watch.
There’s no better feeling than being with your partner. Now, you can be closer everyday in a way that’s indescribable. Experience what it’s like to have that special someone “on your wrist” today.

Update: I don’t get notifications when my partner responds on my watch. It’s downloaded and I can see it but I don’t get notifications. Also consider changing the UI so I don’t have to scroll though all the options to send one. The one tap also makes it very easy to accidentally send. Please consider making it triple tap to send. Is there an email contact for the developer?
This is a surprisingly enjoyable app that I found on product hunt. I typically don’t write reviews but I wanted to encourage the developer to keep working on it. It’s quite enjoyable. I thinking adding more states for the otter would be a nice, but still fun as it. A greater variety of emotions/scenes would be nice. It’s like bitmoji but an otter and only for your partner. I think the UI of sending can be improved. I’ve accidentally sent an otter several times.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! Regarding the lack of notifications problem: are you getting notifications of incoming otters only on your phone? or not even on your phone? Do you get any type of notifications on your watch from Significant Otter? Would love to hear from you at email@example.com
Me and my partner are long distance, and we only see each other for less than a week per year. With that being said we are constantly hunting down apps that we can connect with, that aren't just a second messaging system. We already have iMessage, so we think that couple chatspaces are silly. We love the graphics in Significant Otter, and the pun the name of the app is. Even when we are sad, we immediately smile at the notification that one of our otters has come by to visit one another. It makes us very happy and we absolutely love the fluidity and wholesomeness of this app. It's very simple yet very loving and useful. However, with that being said, I would like to have more "emote" options. I don't have an apple watch, so of course it cant track my heartrate or when im running etc. However, it would be awesome if it synced with Strava and had little emotes for all the different sports that Strava tracks, and can send while recording an exercise through Strava. Maybe a few extra emotes, like one doing homework or playing video games, other activities and maybe some more mixed emotion little emotes. (I don't want to take away the simplicity of this app, as I really think the simplicity is charming.) Also, could we maybe change out Otter's name after we adopt, or just be given a disclaimer that once chosen, it cannot be changed? That would be nice. :)
Poor connection and notifications
Using this app seems to be 50/50 on will it work. My biggest complaint is that when I or my partner react it may notify me and it may not. Then if it does notify me I may see that my partner says or it may just try to get me to react instead of showing me the notification. Sometimes I even have to open my phone instead because the watch app refuses to show me what my partner sent. That kind of makes the watch app useless for what I wanted out of it. Then it seems if you don’t open the app on your phone for a certain amount of time the watch won’t even let you send reactions until you open the app again. The app is an amazing concept but until I can go through at least 3-6 hours without having to “fix” issues with the phone app or watch then it is really just an inconvenience vs sending a cute emoji or gif. If it gets more stable in the future I’d consider giving it a better review and update this one.
