Discovering producers adds depth to my morning coffee

In 2005, I taught English in a small coffee farming region in Costa Rica. It transformed how I thought about food systems and coffee. I returned to the states and spent the next five years working in sustainable agriculture. It became clear to me that the money I spent on food and coffee was an investment, a vote for the ecosystem I wanted to see thrive. I feel fortunate to have built meaningful relationships with farmers in my region. It adds depth and delight to my experience of food. Coffee needs this connection too. A cup of coffee is like a portal, an intimate link between people who live in very different parts of the world. Thanks to Siip, I’m discovering roasters that are sourcing coffee from the farmers in the village where I volunteered! I’m also discovering farmers in regions that produce coffees that match to my taste, and I’m learning about the people at origin who make my morning ritual possible. It’s beautiful and fun. When I first downloaded the Siip Coffee app, I was seriously impressed. I snapped a photo of my coffee bag, and in seconds, it gave me detailed information about the beans—stuff that wasn’t even on the packaging. It instantly had me curious, so I bought another bag from a different brand just to see if it could do it again. Spoiler: it didn’t miss. Between the flavor profiles, brewing methods, and insights it provides, Siip is an essential tool for coffee lovers.What really sets Siip apart is the team behind it. I’ve been reaching out to them on Instagram with ideas for app improvements, and they’re quick to respond—sometimes even asking for more feedback. You can tell they genuinely care about building something great. I have a strong feeling this app is going to change how a lot of us buy our next coffee roast.Much love to you guys and your team, keep it up!

Finally a coffee subscription that gets it right

I’ve tried a handful of subscription services in the past, and honestly always ended up a bit disappointed. I’d get bags that I didn’t like that much, or would see repeats too often. It felt like they were sending me the cheapest coffees they had. Siip feels completely different. The taste matching is way more accurate, and it definitely gets better after rating some coffees I’ve tried, so it doesn’t feel random. I’ve had a couple coffees I would’ve never picked off the shelf that ended up being my favorites, which had never been my experience before with the others. If you’ve tried subscriptions before and felt underwhelmed, this is worth a shot.
