Earn 2.02% APY on your entire balance in your Protected Goals Account. Bank, budget, and earn 30x (1) the national average.
Use Goals to stash away money: Save for the unexpected or automate saving for things you want. From a trip to Italy to a new bike.
Set it & forget: Set up your Expenses one time and going forward, we’ll do the boring work of recreating the Expense for you. That way, when you pay your rent bill, your Expense is already saving up for next month’s bill. Yep, it’s our job now. (You can even split Expenses with a partner when using a Shared Account).
Spend spontaneously, without derailing your budget or bills (or doing math on the spot...). We take your account balance, subtract your Expenses and Goals, and tell you exactly how much money you have leftover to spend on whatever you want. (Buy the shoes!)
Earn interest with whoever you’re interested in: Let your money earn up to 30x (1) the national average with a Shared Protected Goals Account. And when it comes to shared bills, two paychecks are better than one! Open a Simple Shared account and tackle them together.
(1) Check it out for yourself (based on the May 20, 2019 National Rate): https://www.fdic.gov/regulations/resources/rates/

Goodbye bill pay
Honestly simple deserves 2 stars rather than 3 but here’s my honest review I’ve been with simple since it was in beta. I love the idea of goals and I’ve never had an issue with the reliability of my account. Support has always been good.
The introduction of expenses personally I did not see a reason for it due to it being a duplicate of goals but now with the option to make recurring goals and to setup a funding schedule.
But recently simple has made a move regarding removing the bill pay feature by providing a sorry excuse that it went against what they stood for to make things simple so that you know how much money you have. Out of all these years I haven’t ran into one issue for what half of the new users are stating with double debiting. Now all customer who have multiple bills setup through bill pay now have to rely and remember to send out paper checks or allow another company to have control over when they can take money out of your account. So if you have a dispute when another company takes your money you’re basically SOL and expect simple to not bat an eye to support. It’s possible that bbva has its foot on simples neck demanding for better profits under the new CEO. But in no way simple should provide as with a sorry excuse to the removal of this basic feature that anyone who calls themselves a bank supports.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for this feedback. Eliminating Bill Pay was something we mulled on for quite awhile. In the end, we realized that it was only being utilized by a small number of customers and without it, we’ll be able to explore new, innovative tools that will benefit the rest of our customers as well. ^BA
Nothing but amazing
I read alot of the comments and I don't really write reviews about apps but after reading the comments I felt I needed to write one, for the next set of bankers looking at a online banking account. I love Simple I have had little to no trouble with the customer service team, the bank experience and the app itself. Simple is one of my most go to bank. I get some of my paycheck deposit into the account and it works just like and somethings better than your regular bank. I do think Simple bank is probably the best online banking out there. If I have a problem I just send a message through the app to the customer service team and they would get back to me within 24hours. 99% of the time they will solve the Issue and I am happy. I never had any troubles using the bank card anywhere or using it with my Apple Pay. Of course with online banking you give up the freedom to just deposit cold hard cash into the account but once your pass that, Simple is easily the best. Plus the saving tools are a great use.
All good until you actually need customer service
Ive had simple for almost 2 yrs now and loved it. The alerts when you spend, photo deposits, and the app were all great...until I moved. I relocated and was staying in corporate paid hotel for about a week and called to alert simple of an unauthorized hold for literally $1. They immediately cut off my card without even contacting me back.
They then refused to send my card to the new address and the rep said there should be someone at my old address that could give me the card. When I explained I live alone with two children and there wasnt I received a series of emails on how Simple shouldn't be my only bank and the hotel should be able to give me something saying Im staying there even if they are paying for it. A week later and after sending in multiple photos, documents, messaged and calls I still cant get a new card because the photo of me in front of my new address isn't clear enough...I have an iphone 7. I even sent in an email to show where I was having service connected at the new apt Im moving to in my name. Still not enough. Simple has some great features, just know if you ever loose your card and happen to be out of town or recently relocated just know you may be treated like you’re trying to steal your own money. You'll have to wait for emails to be responded and the approval is at the whim of whoever happens to get the email.
