Simple Match 3 4+

Really glad I purchased this game. Lots of fun for the low price. My problem with most match 3 games are the gimmicks, ads, grinding, or pay-to-win that comes with most (if not all) of them. This dev made a super clean, super fun version with none of that. You make your way through boards, winning achievements to unlock different symbol/color tiles you can use as you please. Different obstacles like gaps, blocks, fans and blobs are presented along the way that you have to navigate or destroy. Power ups are available to help when stuck. Really like that you can use a turn to move even if the move doesn’t result in a match. I set an original goal to get three stars on a level before moving on, but had to abandon that around level 70 due to seemingly impossible score objectives. I now replay every level until getting at least two stars. I got stuck on level 138 for a couple days, but wasn’t the start of an inevitable wall where even the one star targets make boards completely unsolvable. Really solid mobile game. Some small fixes to suggest would be 1) that moving a match into a T shape should result in a power up 2) a few levels said I had a obstacles remaining when the board was clear 3) having left over moves should get you more extra points toward stars and 4) leftover power ups should auto execute after 0 moves left. Currently on level 233. Great mind exerciser and time killer. Great job dev. 10/10 would recommend.

The 1.2 update that just released gives you slightly more points for left over moves, so hopefully that helps.

I was able to pass all levels with 2 stars, and 3 stars is supposed to be a challenge, but if there are any levels that seem impossible please email me at mulberrytreegames@gmail.com and I can consider adjusting some things!

I have searched a long time for a good match 3 game that works smoothly, looks great for an adult, and that has a fair premium price with no ads or IAP or all the other junk most games like this have. I had given up.

Then I searched one last time and found this one today. All I can say is, developer, you read my mind. This is exactly what I’ve been wanting. THANK YOU for doing it all right and monetizing it so fairly too.

I read online that you’re thinking about some kind of endless mode, and I’d love that option. I typically prefer a random generated time limit high score kind of game over levels. So having that option would be wonderful. I draw to that blitz kind of thing more because it’s easy to do when you have a short break and not so strategically challenging.

Also maybe the app could use a tad battery optimization. It’s not horrible, but it maybe could be better. I turned off all effects (which I hate to do), and that does help some. The file size is about as big as I’m willing to download for a game. Seems like it could be a bit smaller, but it’s totally ok as is too.

I highly recommend this game and supporting a developer who is doing right by people. Ten stars here. Thank you!

I don't believe any of these reviews nor do I understand the branding of this game: Simple it is not. It can be challenging in a fun way on occasion but you can also be stuck playing the same level over and over again until the algo "lets you win". The instructions are poorly and vaguely written (and some of them are just wrong) that go along with the 26, yes, 26 "special pieces" that are obstacles in one way or another; how is that simple? Tbh, It feels like a game that was created by people who think they are just "so clever" that they don't have to edit; they just shove everything they made in it. There is no actual way, for example, to make a three by three "L" shaped rainbow in a match 3 game, hello... So it has to generate randomly but also will keep you from progressing. I'm on level 38 now and played it umpteen different ways for over 30 mins. w/ the same results: just stuck there, which is neither fun or relaxing.

If you want a sometimes ridiculous challenge, then this is your game. But if you are looking for an actually simple match 3 game, look elsewhere. Plus you have to pay before you can play so you don't know what you have gotten into until it's too late so there's that too.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not happy with the game. As with most match 3 game, new elements are introduced slowly to keep gameplay interesting. I will definitely consider changing the first few dot levels to have an easier layout. If you’re looking for a simple match 3 game with no extra elements, I think it’s clear from the screenshots and app preview video that this game does include lots of special pieces and elements, but I’m sorry if it wasn’t what you were expecting.

Edit: Again, I’m sorry that the game didn’t meet your expectations. I will be sure to edit the game’s description in the future to include the fact that most of the levels are puzzles and not just simple levels. I can see how you might find the name of the game misleading. I do plan to add a zen mode in the future so hopefully that will improve the game for you! Also, I’d be curious to know which instructions are “wrong”? I didn’t create this game to be frustrating and definitely didn’t just throw a bunch of special elements in there to be annoying and keep players from progressing. Believe it of not I actually spent a lot of time designing the gameplay and coding each specific part of the game. If would’ve been much easier to make 300 levels with no special elements, but I truly tried to create a unique and enjoyable experience. The special elements are probably introduced faster than some other match 3 games. This is mostly because I’m a solo developer and don’t have a team of people to create thousands of filler levels. I’m sorry you don’t find it enjoyable.
