Simple is a better mileage tracker -- simple and personal.
Simple automatically tracks and records your mileage in the background as you drive your car for business. Simple users save an average of $6,000 per year.
Tracking your miles for tax deduction purposes? Simple is the easiest most accurate way to create logs that follow IRS mileage standards.
Easy to Use. Loaded with Features.
Two of the biggest mistakes manual paper log keepers make is not maintaining a contemporaneous mileage log and mixing their business miles with personal miles. Inaccurate record-keeping can result in rejected mileage deduction claims and IRS penalties.
Automatic Mileage Detection
Simple creates an accurate, contemporaneous record of the miles you drive for work. Automatic drive detection means no stopping and starting the app. No need for manual paper logs.
Accurate Mileage Tracking
Features like Auto Address Detection and One Swipe Categorization give your tax-deductible mileage records the accurate details they need to pass IRS scrutiny.
A Custom Fit
No matter whether you're tracking miles for reimbursements or tax deductions, Simple gives you the tools and flexibility to create mileage record details that reflect the miles you drive.
• Personalize each drive with vehicle names or any designation that fits your business
• Customize your own mileage rate, currency, and themes
• Use bulk editing to give groups of drives a single purpose
• Add drives, delete drives, re-classify drives, and more
Making Your Business Mileage Count
The 2019 standard IRS mileage rate of 58 cents per mile driven for business, 14 cents for charity and 18 cents for medical mileage.
Simple calculates your largest mileage tax deduction. For example, let’s say you drive 1,000 or 10,000 miles for business using the standard mileage rate of 58 cents you’d be entitled to a mileage deduction of $580 or $5800.
Detailed Records of Every Trip
A mileage log is only as good as the reports it generates. Stored securely in the cloud, Simple sends weekly mileage reports on your request. Need more specificity, use the web dashboard to generate custom reports.
Mileage Logging that Works
• Easy. Simple to install and use
• Automatic. No stopping and starting the app
• Organized. Classify your drives with a swipe
• Accurate. Mileage logs that meet IRS mileage deduction standards
• Personal. Customize the app with your own theme, language, currency, and mileage rate.
Simple consumes almost no power when stationary (as it quickly goes to "sleep"), and it will only minimally increase battery consumption when in transit. To achieve this minimal battery usage, Simple uses smartly constructed algorithm to detect drives rather than only using GPS (which requires more power) for location data.

Worth trying out
First off I’m sick and tired of people wanting everything for free. How are these programmers supposed to support their families with food? It’s not “bait & switch” for goodness sake, it’s “try before you buy.” This app worked great for me I think the other good reviews say it all. You get enough free trips to find out if this is what you need. Honestly five dollars a month is not that big a deal for a great app that will save you on your taxes.
Good app, great customer support
Simple is a good, basic, no frills mileage app. And it is free. Can’t beat that, right?
A quick note: if you are like me and conserve battery by periodically swiping up on all your apps running in the “background”, think twice about closing Simple. It will NOT auto track if the app is not running. If you’ve ever used QuickBooks Self Employed, you probably got used to — as I have — the app tracking absolutely every trip, no matter what. Simple will not do this. When I inquired as to why, Jianming from customer support said that it technically violates user privacy to track when the app is closed; which I can respect, even if a bit inconvenient for my needs.
Lastly, if you do have any issues, contact customer support. They will respond in a timely fashion and they are there to help.
Background Activity killing my battery.
The app is great. It tracks my driving and the interface is clean and easy. On its use and function I have no problems. It’s seriously great. My only issue is that it just eats my battery. The battery app lists background activity and closing the app doesn’t help. In fact, I’ve closed it, gotten the pop up notification that it won’t track again until I open it, yet I then go someplace and it has tracked the drive. So it appears to still be running in the background even after closing it. I’m still using it but have bought a battery case as I’m not always able to plug into a charger. So one star off for that.
