Miêu tả

'sinusedo' is a sinewave synthesizer in standalone and AUv3 formats.

It features two independent keyboards with:
• 4 – 72 keys (voices, steps) per octave, each with its
own ring modulator
• maximum polyphony equal to the number of voices;
max polyphony is 144 voices
• 1 – 4 octave range, covering the frequency range of
about 8 – 4200 Hz
• display with note number (from C), note name,
frequency (in Hz), and deviation from 12-TET (in
cents)
• two sections per keyboard: upper for non-sustained
notes, gliding, and velocity; lower for sustained
notes and modulation rate
• mute button to stop/start all sound
• delete/panic button to erase all notes
• glide button for smooth sweeps across keyboard
frequency range
• modulation on/off button
• slider to set initial velocity and modulation levels
• slider to change velocity and modulation rates for all
notes on the keyboard proportionally and to show
current velocity and mod rate levels
• button to toggle keyboard visibility.

sinusedo supports MIDI input from external sources to
control each keyboard independently.

Supported devices: iPad, iPhone

Innovative concept, but limited options and too many bugs

Suggestions for the dev:

Alex Nadzharov has created many creative apps that allow for n-tet (4 to 72-tet). Sinusedo is one of them, and it allows us to create some amazing multi-tet harmonies using both keyboards. However, the app is extremely buggy, and the options for control are limited.

I always like to write directly to the dev with questions, suggestions, and bug reports. However, Alex hasn't provided any method to contact him, so I'm reluctantly posting these comments with the hope that Alex will read them and consider fixing these serious bugs as well as adding these additional functions.

I will of course remove this review if the dev contacts me (I left a msg on his Facebook page for his rrarrow app), and I will give this app 5 stars if all these bugs are fixed and user options are added.

• A more in-depth manual and/or video tutorials would help

• An email address for support, suggestions, bug reports

• For the "keys" button, a double-tap would reset the number at 12 rather than having to punch up to 60 times to return it to this!

• We can slide our finger along the top of held notes for volume to create a pattern, or swipe under the note to create mixed oscillations. It would be nice to have a swipe on all the notes to turn off a range (or all) of the notes. (I know that if we change the number of keys, all the sound will stop for both keyboards, the the above method is more flexible.)

• It would be nice to have an option that when we close a keyboard the sound stops. In other words, perhaps two buttons:

– would close the keyboard and stop the sound playing;

–🎵would close the keyboard but keep the sound playing

• Turning on a sustained note always plays the note at full volume. It would be nice to have the option to start all notes at a very low volume so we can fade them up as needed.

• BUG: sometimes (often) when turning on notes, the rectangle doesn't appear, so you can't turn off the note. You have to click on a different note, then the rectangle appears.

• BUG: sometimes when touching the white portion of the notes and adjusting the volume, the note stays on, and often it's difficult to get the note turned off because it doesn't have the gray rectangle!

• BUG: when a note is sustained, then we tap the rectangle to turn it off, there is a bump in the volume before the sustain portion. This increased bump in volume is very noticeable.

• BUG: often when you have one or more sustained notes playing and add another one, it has no sound. If you drag the light gray mod rate bar down, you can then get the sound to trigger

• BUG: when you have a sustained note, then press the keys button (up or down, which turns off all sound and deletes all notes for both keyboards), then return the keys setting to what it was and press the same note you had before, pressing anywhere in the sustain area won't turn it on. However, other notes will turn on.

The only way I've found to turn on the previously turned-on note is to first drag up/down in the upper (volume) area. This turns on a sustained note (which it shouldn't), then tap the 'off' rectangle. Now you can click the lower portion to turn on the note.
