SiriusXM: Music, Sports & News 17+

I have multiple subscriptions and frankly only have SXM because of Howard. However, every single time I pause a live show for more than a minute, it “loses connection” and drops. This is not a wifi issue btw. That requires me to reopen the player, fast forward to the point in the show and start listening again! This was not an issue a year ago.

Secondly, I started listening to podcasts on SXM app. this year. Every single time I pause an episode the same thing happens noted above, and even worse some ADVERTISEMENT for some Entertainment Now channel 790 repeatedly breaks in and then interrupts a show, and begins blaring an ad for this stupid channel. This is every day up to a dozen times a day. The show is completely dropped because of this Ad! Considering I pay for uninterrupted shows (minimal normal podcast advertisements are understood) and no SXM ADS I expect to listen to anything on the App without eardrums being completely blown out by the sound level of the ad, and being irritated beyond belief that I cannot listen to anything that is talk or podcast without constant dropping out or being interrupted. Fix this error ASAP, it has been going on for at least 6 months. This is making me consider dropping all my subscriptions, you know I can stream music anywhere.

Update: 3/7/24 - New version is unstable and a pain. My usuge of the app continues to be almost solely downloads of Howard Stern show.
The most common issue is I will listen to a show download, pause and sometime later, could be hours, could be the next day and when I press play, there is just a spinning circle. If I close the app and restart it, that problem is resolved for the moment.
Another problem I’ve encountered is Your Shows in the Library. I’ve downloaded several of the episodes and have encountered a couple times where not all the episodes are displayed. They are gone. So I have to download them again. I also noticed that I saw two versions of the same episode, but they were actually two different episodes.

I only use the app to download the Howard Stern shows. I thought the crashes and inability to pause the show and come back later to continue had been fixed, not not totally. Still crashing and often pressing play just shows a spinning circle. Now, like previous, the only consistent way to continue listening to a downloaded show is to go to Settings, Manage Downloads and tap on the show I was listening to. One recent day I also found that the 15 second skip forward and backward and other controls were missing. When these problems occur it becomes distracted driving when I fumble around because the technology failed.

I have loved previous versions of this app, but the most recent one (7.0.5) makes it virtually unusable. The first time you open it, it asks you to pick a lot of artists or genres which you like. Seemingly, this would be used to present this type of material to you on your Home Screen. But it is constantly suggesting artists or channels which are completely different from what I liked. With previous versions of the app, my Home Screen showed all the channels I had marked as favorites and I could immediately select one of them. The new app makes it hard to find what you want.

One of my favorite channels was Radio Classics. Previously you could select the channel and it would show you all the programs which had aired in the last 4 or 5 hours, so you could jump to one of them. Now, it shows you a list of what is coming up in the next few hours. That does me no good if I’m looking to listen to something right now. The best you can get is a list of 4-episode blocks which have aired recently, but you have very limited information on what programs might be included in that block. If you start listening and find that a program you are interested in is the third program in the block, it is much more difficult to jump to that program.

Please bring back the functionality that actually let a user listen to his/her favorite channels or programs! I don’t need/want all your suggestions of what you think I might like.
