SKIIID is a new drum-synthesizer with 4 expressive pads and the possibility to morph between them. With its randomisation feature you can create unique effects and lo-fi drum-sounds quickly. On top of that we’ve added a fun sequencer. But don’t expect a highly accurate clockwork drum-machine, this synth is “dirty and alive"
- Morphing SAUCE WAVE Oscillator (adds some additional SAUCE/MEAT to your drumsound)
- Morphing NOISE Oscillator (adds dusty and crackly imperfections)
- Velocity along the vertical axis of all drum-pads
- Note pitch and fine-tuning
- Amplitude and Pitch Envelopes
- Ladder filter with highpass
- Bitcrusher, distortion and resonator - effects
- Randomization for single drum-pads and sequencer. Randomization can be switched on and off for all parameters.
- Ableton Link Support
- Drone Mode
- AUv3 - Support
- Audiobus and IAA - Support
- Midi In
- Iphone - Support
fixed export (garageband, nanostudi 2 etc)

Amazing app but seriously needs midi and sequencer update
Update - prior to the developer response I figured out how to send midi. Can't remember the issue, although I still wish I could specify midi channel. I've been sending notes from digitakt to aum and I specify limiting this app to a specification midi channel in aum. Anyway it's a great sound design tool and I hope it's expanded upon - whether this app itself or maybe some future deluxe version or something. not enough unique drum sound design tools on ios for my taste. so this is nice
So first of all - amazing app for the price. Anyone considering it, just go find a demo video and you'll be sold.
However... The sequencer is frustratingly limited. You can choose to have between 1 and 16 steps but that's as advanced as it gets.
I'd like to see up to 64 steps in the sequencer, probability per step, and a "retrigger" option.
Thanks a ton for reading this, developer. Look forward to updates and future drum design apps
Developer Response ,
hi, you can play the PADs using MIDI with your DAW (Ableton, Logic etc) or inside of your IPad with virtual Midi (App to App)
or inside of PADs like AUM. playing the PADs with a connected keyboard or via korg nanokey should work too (not tested yet)
PAD 1 = C4 (notenumber 60)
PAD 2 = C4# (notenumber 61)
PAD 3 = D4 (notenumber 62)
PAD 4 = D4# (notenumber 63)
Wonderful morphing droning percussive sounds
So, the good stuff... the four instruments are incredibly expressive and easy to shape. Within a single pad, you have a wide range of sound possibilities depending on how you set parameters across the width of each pad. Everything is on one page, so you can readily see how your sound is made and where morphing takes each of your sound’s parameters. Very intuitive!
The bad stuff... not to much to say here. You have to play around a bit to get some good sounds. With a little time and effort, any you’ll start to see how powerful this instrument can be in a live setting as well as within daw arrangements.
Lots of fun
Looking forward to the built out maybe a beefier sequencer like different running directions flip or some live control. Midi?
Developer Response ,
midi capability and a sequencer update has been added with version 1.02. have fun
