What’s New

Version 4.6

New
- Voice Keyer for sending SSB messages. See updated Guide, Advanced Operating > Messages > Synthesized Voice Messages.
- Getting Started window that appears when a user runs SkookumLogger and hasn't changed the My call field in New Log settings, Cabrillo tab to something other than "K1CX".
- Control-click in Panadapter window sets transmit frequency without changing receive frequency, for split pileup.

Changed
- Handle the situation where a radio may or may not have a DVR. Before, SkookumLogger assumed all radios of the same type either did or did not have a DVR.
- Modified K4 Mini-Pan appearance and behavior; see updated Guide, Advanced Operating > Panadapters > K4 Mini-Pans.
- - K4 TCP Gain menu items increase or decrease Main or Sub receiver gain in 3 dB steps using a combination of attenuation and DSP gain, to simulate analog radio RF gain control.

Fixed
- K4 Mini-Pan windows were drawing the receive bandwidth rectangle at an incorrect horizontal position for large bandwidths.
- SkookumLogger was incorrectly displaying "Invalid call" for certain valid callsigns, such as TX7W.
- Clearing the RIT/XIT offset for K3 radios was also silently turning off RIT and XIT states.

Great accessibility and support from developer

I (AI7SK) am VoiceOver user and found that this app has a great support for VoiceOver. Every control has a proper label and hint test. Navigation in dialogs is very reasonable. There was one instance where VoiceOver didn't work correctly, I contacted developer and we worked together a solution that was implemented in very timely manner. Bill is very respoinsive and was willing to address the issue I had. The way He implemented much better solution than I expected. In addition to good VoiceOver support, the app also has a lot of keyboard shortcuts, while this is common for contesting software, it is also very helpful for accessibility (for visually impaired users). I am using this app for contesting quite successfully.

Happy User Since 2014

Full Disclosure: The developer, Bill, is a long time friend and contesting mentor of mine for almost 20 years.

While SkookumLogger is new to the Apple Store, I have been using SL since 2014 just as Bill started implementing support for Single Operator Two Radio (SO2R). I've used SL as my primary contest logging program from my home QTH from casual to full-time contesting efforts ever since. Stable, great features, and excellent support of Elecraft K3(S) radios. SL has all the features you need to mount a successful contesting effort.
