Oh hi. We’re Skorch. Our whole thing is letting you know about the best restaurants, bars, cafes and attractions. It’s true. With a curated map and list, Skorch takes the work out of finding the fun.
Now featuring Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York City, Orange County, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto & Washington DC.
Your city not on the app? Don’t stress it. We’ll probably be there soon, all like, “hey, have you checked out this place yet?”
OH, AND ANOTHER THING OR TWO:
- The warmer the color, the more popular the place. Easy.
- Use the "refine" menu to see other cities and filter results.
- Skorch is social. Follow people you know and maybe people you don’t.
- Share the good times in real time, aka "Skorch it".
- Hotlist places you love or want to check out. It’s your call, k?

Find fun eats anywhere!
This app is a great idea. It is very easy to use and I love that people can post pictures of food, drinks, and of the location itself so you can truly get an idea of what a place will be like and if you really want to go. It is very helpful when visiting new cities and don’t want to spend hours interpreting yelp reviews about tons of restaurants. The only suggestions I can make are to add an option to look up zip codes or to refine by smaller neighborhoods of larger cities to make it even easier to find cool spots!
The app you wish you came up with
Ever find yourself saving pictures of food from the hottest restaurants to your Instagram collection in the attempts to someday recreate it when you are at that destination?! Luckily, there’s an app to keep you updated on all the hottest spots near you and find other people who are as down to munch as you are. Genius huh? I came across this app through social media and immediately wanted to go searching for a popular lunch spot. So delete your Instagram food collection, (you don’t need that anymore), text your friends, and plan GNO tonight. You won’t be disappointed.
interesting idea but could use some changes
I really like the concept of this app at its core. As of now, I only use Instagram to find fun, trendy places with a younger crowd. However, Skorch loses some credibility in my eyes by using terms like “clout,” “on point” and “hotness.” I can tell they’re going for a trendy, young vibe, but even as a 22 year old it still kinda misses the mark for me and sounds silly.
I also think that the likelihood of pulling up this app to take pictures while I am at a restaurant or bar is very slim. I would DEFINITELY post photos from my camera roll, but I doubt I would think to open up Skorch right away. There should be a camera roll option; you would get much more activity and posting.
