When someone showed me this game, I was almost instantly hooked! It scratched my itch of collecting things and combined it with my love of aviation. For the first 2 weeks, I was glued to it! When the update was announced, I was so excited for new missions and features. But after seeing it, I’m afraid the developers are flying this plane into a mountain. Instead of rewarding you for taking a perfectly framed and cloudless picture (which is already difficult enough when you’re flying through endless clouds), you are instead penalized for NOT getting a perfect shot by losing XP. And while you used to be able to get at least one coin for either perfect framing OR a cloudless photo, now you get 2 coins for both or nothing at all. The only reason I can imagine this is happening is to incentivize people to buy coin packages and spend them on perks like camera stabilizers and blue skies. But this is going to really alienate those users, like myself, who want to just enjoy the game. I may still play off and on, but I will not be as fervent as I was before. I hope that the dev’s change their direction before the wings fall off altogether and this flight crashes into the ocean, disappearing like Malaysia Airlines flight 370. Please do better guys.

ETA: it’s better. The seasons are gone. It’s still expensive to travel to airports, purchase helper items, and coin payout is low. If you’re new to the game, and didn’t know what it was like in the before times, you’ll probably enjoy the app. OP: -100% Framing/0% Clouds to get 2 coins on catch. No coins paid out for having one of those. Lose XP if not a perfect catch. -Must recatch plane in Season 1. Season 0 only counts in Battlefield. -Battlefield scoring is not balanced, or there is not an explanation for scoring. If I have the same value as my opponent in a category, my opponent wins? How? Why? -Battlefield is silly. I downloaded the game to catch and learn about aircraft. Everything seems to be centered around the Battlefield. -Everything is more expensive. Additional photos, traveling to airports, helper items. With coins earned slower, even if a person stayed on the app all day, there are some aspects of the game that are impossible to reach without paying real dollars for additional coins. -Everything casual and light about this game has been stripped, and in its place, a sense of frenzy and chaos is left. Please change it back, devs. Please?

This is principally a plane catching/collecting game (à la Pokémon Go). God knows why, but the devs in their infinite wisdom thought it’d be a good idea to start periodically wiping out people’s collections every “season”, and making you restart from scratch. There was absolutely no reason for this change. I don’t want to spend months working to complete my collection, only for a new “season” to start where every plane I caught is now treated like a new plane again.The season concept doesn’t necessarily need to go, but it needs to be implemented in a very different way so as to not ruin the game. Most importantly, you should at least have the option to choose (in settings) whether a plane on the map shows as a “new card” when it (A) hasn’t been collected ever, or (B) just hasn’t been collected during that particular season. I want to know whether the plane is in my deck, not whether I re-collected it this season, and a large chunk of the community seems to agree.Before Season 1 came out, I would’ve given this game 4-5 stars (and I was super excited for the prospect of S1 when it was announced). And some aspects of S1 are steps forward for sure. But the small choice to fundamentally undermine the whole point of the app by resetting your collection every “season” has ruined the game.

Disregard previous review!! Developers listen to feedback and have restored the best parts of the game due to criticism. It is back to being a fun collection building challenge rather than a never ending drudge. This game was perfect because it was simple. Collect. Pop in and pop out casually, build collections and see some cool things. The season model doesn’t work when you feel like it erased all your progress you made and you have to start over. It’s harder to find new things now when you’re starting everything from scratch. Coins are harder to get and more needed because traveling to try to complete challenges is expensive. You had a great app that was simple and prioritized completing collections and was generous with its benefits. (You could do a lot with 5 photos every 15 minutes) but pretending that none of the previous catches counted made it feel like I’d lost all progress I had made. Feeling significantly less motivated to continue playing, which is a bummer because I made a bunch of people download the app.
